Hello, and thanks for stopping by Sunny Buzzy Books!
I'm a thirty-something-year-old bookworm from the UK.
Currently, I live in Wiltshire, England, about half an hour from Stonehenge, but I'm originally from a little village about half an hour from Edinburgh, Scotland.
My husband and I met over fifteen years ago during freshers week at Uni and the rest, they say, is history!
He's the reason I now live 'down south'.
Well, him and work.
We have a son together and a minor menagerie of furry creatures.
You'll see me refer to them on occasion.
I refer to my husband as 'the professor' and our son as 'the little dude'.
In the past, I had a blog called The Book Lover's Codex.
I deleted it - and all associated social media - when I decided to give up blogging during the dark days of what shall forever be known as The Epic Reading Slump.
It was an attempt to simplify my life but blogging wasn't what was causing my problem.
By the time I realised my mistake, it was too late to resurrect it.
I thought about letting it go, just continuing with reviewing on Goodreads and whatever, but I missed my little space on the interwebs.
That's when Sunny Buzzy Books was born, in May 2017.
A new blog with a new outlook.
It's mostly a positive place but I am naturally sarcastic and that bleeds through... I'm also honest to a fault so if I love it, I'm gonna love it.
If I hate it? Well... I'm gonna hate it and I'll state why but - in keeping with the positive, happy, place - I'm not going to dwell on things I don't like.
I'm a romance junkie.
I do read other books - and I will talk about them here - but almost everything that I read has romance or a couple I can ship fiercely.
Love makes the world go round you know!
I'm a big mood reader and at the moment, my preferences are more towards Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. However, I DO enjoy a good contemporary romance too.
Not to mention Young Adult, New Adult, and books I can read with the little dude... You get the idea.
I'm pretty open-minded and I don't think I have any automatic disqualifications when choosing books, but I'm not mad about cliffhangers. If I know it's going to be a cliffhanger, I'll probably wait until all books are out and then read them but I judge on a book by book basis.
I post reviews for the books I read alongside posts about my reading habits, preferences, series I like, and anything else book-related that pops into my head.
I also like taking part in weekly book blogger memes, tags and challenges to give the old grey matter a prompt.
I do to take part in book blitzes, cover reveals and book tours but I only sign up for events that are for books I'm genuinely excited about.
I also try to limit the number of these I sign up for as I don't want the blog to be one promo after the other with no other content.
I often host giveaways, typically in the form of a giveaway blog hop, and this is usually once a month.
