Weekly Update #137 - Happy Easter!

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

Happy Sunday, folks!

Today, we kicked off the day with an Easter egg treasure hunt where the little dude had to follow a series of clues, each one leading to the next, in order to get to a basket of chocolate goodies.
We've followed that up with a massive Easter lunch and I'm enjoying a cup of tea and 5 minutes of peace and quiet to write this post while the family are chatting in the garden.
(We're allowed up to mingle in groups of up to 6 people outdoors now... Exciting stuff.)
I've made a no-bake cheesecake for dessert so I'll need to re-join them at some point but until then I'll enjoy being warm and not having to socialise!
(The anti-social hermit is even more anti-social and hermit-ish after so many months of lockdown, lol.)

The week leading up to the 4-day weekend has been super chilled. I spent a couple of days in office, we watched multiple Marvel movies (the Captain America ones) and I fangirled myself silly over this week's Falcon and The Winter Soldier episode.
I LOVE Bucky Barnes (aka The Winter Soldier) so I've been in heaven since that show started airing... But I'll stop talking about it or I'll fall down a rabbit hole of fangirling squealing and possibly drooling...
I read a book (gasp!), I organised the house, I played a little Stardew and I finished S1 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
I'm calling that productive!
Oh! And Mariana Zapata dropped a new book which I grabbed using KU which made me happy.

Basically, I had a good week and fingers crossed that this one will be another.

  4. Happy Easter! Sounds like a fun day. I was already a hermit and lockdown just gave me justification. It's not good!

  5. I'm so glad you've had a such a lovely Easter! It sounds wonderful - though I appreciate entertaining must be quite a strain after all the lockdown/social distancing we've all been doing. I hope the coming week is also a great one, Nicci:))

  7. Sounds like you had a lovely Easter. I'm anti-social even though I've basically had no change in my work habits since the lockdown. I haven't been around friends or family, other than my kids for a year and I can't really say I've missed that. Is that bad?

There's a new Mariana Zapata?! I need to go and check that out ASAP! Have a great week!

It sounds like you enjoyed some wonderful family time, it’s sad my kids are too old for an Easter hunt now.

Wishing you a great reading week

  10. Happy Easter!

The no-bake cheesecake sounds wonderful. It's taking me a while to relearn how to socialize, too.

    Have a lovely week, Nicci!

  14. Sounds like Easter was a success. :) Thanks for the mention of my discussion post. And I love the meme at the bottom. LOL It's so true... there's no one to save you from yourself when you're an adult. Ha!

  15. You're the fun mom. I never really organized anything major for Easter, but we always have Polish ham, which the kid loves.

  16. Glad to hear you had a nice Easter. I was antisocial all day and spent my time outside reading, lol. I'm really enjoying Falcon and The Winter Soldier too. I've been really impressed by all of the Disney Plus Marvel series so far. Just saw the trailer for the new Loki one this morning and that looks amazing too.

  17. Happy Belated Easter! Sounds like it was a nice day, and I'm so glad you had a great week. I hope this one is off to a good start as well. I haven't watched any of the Marvel shows on Disney Plus yet, but I am curious about Falcon and The Winter Soldier (love Bucky too!) and I do want to watch Loki when that comes out.

  18. Sounds like you had a fun Easter and I'm glad your week was good. I definitely think I'll need to learn how to be social again after this lockdown ends. After being in lockdown since December, and being on maternity leave I feel like I forgot how to be a social human being. LOL!

Have a great week and happy reading.

  19. Happy Easter to you! I haven't had a single Easter Egg this year due to my new health regime. I did find a box of mint Lindor under the bed which is testing my resolve!

  20. Your Easter Egg Treasure Hunt sounded like fun, Nicci! We weren't quite as creative, but we did have an Easter Egg hunt outside and inside our house for my daughter. I know what you mean about wanting to hold onto that quiet time--I feel the same way. It's been kind of nice having an easy excuse to not socialize. Although, don't get me wrong, I'd rather no pandemic at all even so.

I am enjoying Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Bucky is a great character.

I hope you have a great rest of the week, Nicci!
