Sunday Post #131

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

'Tis official!
I have finished Christmas shopping. I have posted all that needs posting.
Now I just need to stumble through work until I can log off and be done (Thursday afternoon) and then it's Christmastime! Woohoo!

My back is feeling marginally better but I can sit down now so I'm a happy camper. I can also drive short distances without aggravating it so this is a win!

Today is my mum's birthday and I amazed myself by getting everything posted so it arrived yesterday. Terrible as it sounds, this usually never happens! Probably because I know, in a normal year, I'd be seeing her in a week but alas... Not this year.

Just one and it's an ARC.

Friends With Benefits by Lisa Swift
I absolutely loved When You Were Mine by this author so I have high hopes for this one!

You Had Me At Hockey by Kelly Jamieson was a massive hit for me this week!
I Can Do Magic was a wonderful educational book for children featuring the magic of the natural world and The Pugly Duckling was... A mixed bag, shall we say. Cute but DOGS DON'T COME FROM EGGS! (It really bugged me, lol.)

All the things.
Christmas movie bonanza at the moment! We've watched The Grinch (the new animated one),  Arthur Christmas (which is awesome), various hallmark-esqe ones (I'm summarising those in a separate post) and Beauty and The Beast (animated) because I was in the mood.

My kind of Carol of The Bells...

Have a great week all!

  1. Happy birthday to your mum (decemberists are the best ^^). I"m glad your back is better, I hope it continues that way for Christmas. Enjoy your week :)

  2. So glad to hear the back is a getting better. And, wow! Look at you all done. I applaud you. It's nice you get such a long holiday break. I get Christmas day off. That's it. We do a lottery for the other days, so we have coverage, and I did not get any of the days. Ho hum. Doesn't bother me as much this year, since I am work from home and we have nowhere to go. Enjoy your break!

  3. Congrats on the Christmas mailing...and your books, which look tempting. I am curious about Friends With Benefits. Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. I hope your mom has a great birthday! It is nice to be done with everything before the holidays and a break, I am almost done.

Arthur Christmas really is awesome and I don't think it gets enough credit for being awesome!

I hope you have a great week, Nicci! Happy Reading!

  5. So glad your back is feeling better!! I really need to step up my Christmas movie game! I think I’ve only watched a handful of them so far. I’m afraid they’ll make me cry this year!

It sounds like you had a good reading week this week! I hope this week is even better to you. And happy birthday to your mom!

  6. Happy birthday to your mom Nicci! And I am glad to know that your back gives you some respite! Weird year indeed. I wish you an even better week ;-)

  7. Glad to hear that your back is feeling better and that you have your Christmas shopping done. I just started a new book blog so I am just getting started again. I had a book blog before for many years. If you are interested I have a post on my blog. I hope you have a great week reading!

  8. Glad your back is improving! And I caved today and watched a holiday movie: Christmas Vacation

  9. Glad you are feeling better with your back. Happy birthday to your mom. I am not sure if you will see a second comment from me here written with Google Chrome (MF gave me the info that I can´t see my already written comment because of a problem with your website?) so I am not sure if others see it or not. Congrats on being done with your christmas gifts. I hope you can enjoy the new week. Stay safe and well.

  10. I'm glad your back is improved. Mine had some aches this week which is unusual but nothing like yours. Yay for shopping completed, birthday, and soon your break. Happy Holidays!

  11. Good to know your bck is feeling a bit better. Hope you enjoy your break and time with your family. Merry Christmas!

  12. Congrats on getting your shopping done! I am still sooo not done and I realised yesterday I missed the deadline to order one of them so I’m going to have to come up with something else!
I’m glad your back issue has improved, hopefully it will be better still when you can relax during your vacation!

Wishing you a great reading week

  13. Happy Birthday to your mom! I still have a few things to mail out, but I'm doing fairly well for the most part. That's great your back is starting to feel a lot better. I have MOST of my Christmas shopping finished, but the people I have left don't really need their gifts in time FOR Christmas - just by the end of the month or so I think, so that's helpeful.

  14. Hope you guys have a great day today celebrating, and yay for being done w/ shopping! I still have a ways to go lol.

I love the cover of the Swift book!

    Be well this week!

  15. I'm glad your back is feeling better. I've got almost all the Christmas stuff done now.

  16. So envious of your upcoming time off! Only another day or two to go. Hooray for you! And thank goodness your back is improving. I really need to read something by Kelly Jamieson.

  17. I'm glad your back is feeling better! I JUST finished my shopping as well, and fingers crossed it all arrives before Christmas. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think the girl's BIG gift is supposed to get here on the 24th. Missed you!!!

  18. Down here in the Central Belt, we're all endlessly trapped in lockdown with virtually nothing open. My house is a mess with bags of unwanted stuff and rubbish that I can't get to a charity shop or the local dump. I'm so glad I have the darts to entertain me now!
