Welcome!
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!
The professor is back in office and I didn't implode while juggling work and home schooling = win!
The little dude and I actually had a chilled week. We got all the school work done, set up some experiments (he's a science nut), went for a few long walks and took advantage of the looser restrictions by stopping during one of our walks and having a picnic in the park.
The evenings have been spent watching movies and the little dude's choices leave a lot to be desired sometimes...
Starting Couch to 5k was delayed as I've been having a lot of back pain this week but it's easing off now so hopefully we'll be able to get started this coming week.
It's officially "half-term" but that doesn't mean much of anything at the moment with the kid not being in school... Well, it means I don't need to worry about homeschooling alongside work next week but that's about it.
It's a three-day weekend here and we've so far spent it playing Minecraft. It's not like there are a lot of other options beyond going for another walk! lol.
I hope you're all doing well and have had a good week!

Have a great week all!
Congratulations on doing it all this past week. Sounds like you and the little guy have a great system, that is working for you both. Every time I planned on going outside this week, the weather didn't cooperate. I swear, yesterday, I was going to go do the walk/jog thing, and as soon as I stood up from my chair, it started raining. Oh, well. The universe said no. Hope your back is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteLol, sounds like the universe did say no! Can't argue with that. ;)
DeleteYay! I'm glad it worked out so well for you. The picnic sounds lovely. Next week sounds like it will be easier with no schooling to worry about.
ReplyDeleteMy back had been bothering me as well - I think it's mad a me for not having a massage since February 😕. I'm doing C25K and just finished week 4 - my back hadn't been thrilled with that either.
I hope you have a great week and stay safe!
I blame all the home working for the back pain! It's not doing anyone any good!
DeleteHa Nicci I think we all turn into pijamaphiles these last weeks! Now that's great the the little dude won't have lessons now as maybe it will be easier for you! I hope your back gets better. I also began having problems as homeworking all the time, I don't have a special "desk chair" and I work in my kitchen . Not so good for the back! So now I do some Skype meetings standing or on my knees to change position.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen has become my work space too. That or perched on my bed to find a quiet spot for calls. *sigh*
DeleteHow nice that your son enjoys science! Makes that part of school work easier, I'm sure. Nice that you two got a picnic and were able to enjoy the outdoors!
ReplyDeleteIs that a new Tessa Dare? Looks like a different sort of cover for her. I'm off to check that out! :)
Science and Maths! I'm super lucky, lol. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for parents to coerce kids with no interest into those topics.
DeleteIts a Tessa Dare novella that was featured in an anthology a while ago, I believe. I hadn't read it and grabbed it on a 99p sale. :)
Sorry to hear about the back pain, hopefully it goes away soon.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Fingers crossed.
DeleteI'm glad work and homeschool worked out nice last week, and at least you don't have to worry about homeschool this week!! How fun that you were able to do a picnic in the park - that sounds lovely.

I'm looking forward to more picnics. It's pretty much all we can do at the moment.
DeleteYay! I'm glad you figured out how to handle everything this past week. I don't know how people are managing, especially if they have many younger kids. Mine was always easy though. I like your movies this week, although I'm not watching any.
ReplyDeleteI hope your back is better soon. Take care and stay well. Happy reading!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Thanks Anne! I'm betting there will be many more movies this week with "school" being out!
DeleteGlad everything went well this week! And who knew there was a name for loving PJs as much as I do! I love coming home and changing right away.
ReplyDeleteI've been pretty much living in mine during this and I'm very much the "in the house - clothes off, PJs on" type of gal myself. :)
DeleteGlad that you had a good week, despite the back pain. I am struggling with blogging and it takes me forever to read a book. But watching TV? Nothing as simple as that *lol* Have fun with the movies and stay safe and well.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Your blog has very cool content <3
ReplyDeleteGlad that last week worked so well for you:). I hope you have a lovely half term together, especially as it looks as though the weather is going to allow more picnics!
ReplyDeleteWhen is school over for you all? I think my husband's school is cutting the year in mid-June but they're also doing summer school so that will be interesting.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a nice, relaxing weekend. I love a good 3-day weekend even if we can't go anywhere!
I think I'm a yogapantphile right now lol

Yay for no imploding :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
Yes to lounging around in pyjamas! I feel safe and comfy when I'm wearing mine! It works nicely with Harry Potter films each morning and I can blog and watch. Ugh, back pain can leave you feeling so miserable-I hope that eases for you.
