Weekly Update #111

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

Lots of lovely warm weather this week which was nice!
I pottered around the house, caught up with friends and family (via video chat), worked and generally was just kinda lazy. There isn't anything much more to report than that! I did nothing exciting, went nowhere and basically just existed, lol.

The government was supposed to announce changes to the lockdown on Thursday but it was delayed until today so I'm curious about what comes next... Idiocy is on the rise and people are starting to act like lockdown will be ending and things returning to normal from Monday even though the government has said consistently that that will not be the case, it'll just be a slight easing of certain things... I just don't understand why it's so hard for people just to do as instructed!
It's tough on everyone not seeing family, friends etc but just do as instructed and maybe normalcy will return sooner and lives will be saved instead of this dragging into years! Grrr...
My freaking neighbours have had people over multiple times this week just sitting in the garden, having a BBQ, like all is good. It roasted my nuts! I'm getting very salty about it all but keep having to remind myself I can't control other people, only myself, so I'll keep following the rules and doing my best to keep my family and others safe.

Hope you're all ok!

(For both.)

Finished my Read a Series In A Month series!

Except, I kinda didn't. I finished the first three books but discovered that there's another three books from the pov of a different protagonist. I can either consider those books a continuation of this series (aka Gemini 4-6) or I can consider them a separate series (Lorimar Pack 1-3) and call it good.
Since I have three weeks left of the month, I think I'll read them as part of the challenge.

I've been BAD on visiting and returning comments for a second week.
I've gotten to some of you and to those I've missed, I'll catch up!
Hopefully, that means some posts to share next week...

Avengers Infinity War and Endgame.
Star Wars Episode IX
Big Hero 6 TV Show.

  1. I have read books in a series from a different POV, that were really good, but others seemed like they were telling the exact same story I already read. I think they work best, when the character with the original POV doesn't share every bit of page time with the new POV. I am excited to see you got Bromance. Welcome to the club!

    1. I think with the Gemini / Lorimar pack series, the switch in pov is a continuation and doesn't cover the same ground as the original three books/narrator. I guess I wont know for sure when I start them though! :)

  2. It annoys me too. You are not alone. Stay safe.

  3. My neighbor has been having people over as well. I swear he had an entire family reunion.

    1. It's so annoying, isn't it?! And disrespectful to all those who are abiding by the rules.

  4. A bunch of my neighbors have been having bbq's too. But people around here haven't really been staying indoors and away from others. I'm surprised that people around here aren't sick.

    1. That's the thing, they could be carriers and without testing they wouldn't know. It's so selfish.

  5. It's the same here, Nicci. People behaving as if the virus has magically disappeared and all is well again. It's infuriating. A few things are reopening, with restrictions, but when we go out for a drive I see loads of cars at stores and people all together... why can't they just do the right thing? Gah! I nabbed Further to Fall this week, as well. I've been wanting to read something by Cowles so that might be what I start with.

    1. It definitely makes me stabby! I'm as desperate for normal as the next person but I'm trying to be sensible and non-selfish throughout this cluster so we can end it sooner... People roast my nuts.

Fingers crossed Futher To Fall is a good one!

  6. I just had a fb rant over this. I hate that feeling of being the only ones taking this shit serious. I know we aren't, but God too many people are acting like April's over and so is covid. Ummm, yeah that's not how this shit works. I wish! I just hope there are enough of us taking it seriously to actually make it safe to go back to normal sooner than later.

Have a great week and stay safe!

    1. Yep! This! Exactly this! We all want normal back and the sooner we behave and get things under control the sooner that will happen... People are doing no one any favours by ignoring it.

  7. It also drives me nuts when other people blatantly disrespect the lockdown Nicci but as you said, we can't control others. Happy Mother's day anyway!

    1. Nope, you certainly can't!

I find it funny that it's mother's day seemingly everywhere... Mother's Day was in March in the UK, lol.

  8. Oh my gosh, my neighbors are the same way! I can literally hear their music right now! It drives me nuts because they've been going about things like normal. Ugh. I don't know how they expect things to get better if they don't follow these simple rules. I think things around here are gonna start re-opening soon and I'm a little bit nervous. But hopefully things are really starting to turn around now.

Stay safe and happy reading! 😊

    1. I'm looking forward to when normal returns but I'm not wanting to rush into normal and cause another wave... It's so hard to judge what's going to happen. :(

  9. Love that It's Okay To image - so so true. I'd be really annoyed by your neighbors too, but yeah, we can really only control ourselves (as annoying as that is). Things are opening up bit by bit here, but I think the governor is still handling things fairly well. Granted, I don't plan to really do much new for awhile.

    1. Me neither. I plan to continue to be sensible and cautious even when things start opening.

  10. I'd be just as annoyed with your neighbours! Why can't people just follow the guidelines??? It's for the good of their health! The other one that's irritating me is Jimmy Krankie from the SNP, spouting rubbish, whining and accusing the English of stealing her PPE! Wish I lived in England so I could forget all about her independence rants!

    1. Lol! I can't stand her either... She roasts my nuts. Unfortunately, living down here doesn't provide much of a buffer from her independence rants. :(
