Weekly Update #101

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

This week was an odd week...
Work was evil and home was pretty chilled.
I wasn't online much as I pretty much had a headache from Monday lunchtime through to Thursday morning and it just wouldn't go away no matter what pain killers I took so I slept a lot.
This meant I didn't get much visiting done for a second week in a row but I did manage to return comments so that was better than nothing!

By Friday, I was feeling better and I got to go to lunch to meet a friend/colleague who had a baby back in December and meet the baby for the first time. She was gorgeous! I got lots of baby cuddles in over food and it made for a lovely Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, I went pottery painting with some friends and my friend with the baby came along to that too so I got double baby cuddles in this weekend!
I love babies and I especially love babies I can hand back to their parents so the weekend was close to perfect, lol.

Three of these (Fangil, Quotient, Exiles) were on sale and the other I needed to grab and start immediately after finishing the Governess Game.

I've never heard of this book, nor the author, but after if popped into my inbox I'm actually quite excited to read it.

I'm not going to lie. I'm super nervous about this one. Kylie Scott has been a favourite for a long time but there have been a few misses for me lately so I have no idea what to expect here... Fingers crossed it's a return to form!

⭐⭐⭐✯

Only one book finished this week.
A four day headache steals a lot of time that could be spent reading. 😞

We watched Shazam this weekend and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
It was so funny.

  1. I'm so not a baby person! I don't really like kids either which is why I never had any! Ugh, sorry about the headaches. My dad gets migraines and I see how he suffers with that. Hopefully this will be a better week for you. Oh yes I like that pic about the sequel-that is so true!

  2. A four day headache is hell. Glad you were able to get some rest and baby cuddles, and well books too. I love the Once Upon a Con books, and TKQ was ah-mazing! Hope you enjoy all your new books, and that you don't get another marathon headache.

  3. I'm so sorry for you headache. And I'm so sorry it lasted for so long. Hope it doesn't happen again. I also got The Princess and The Fangirl on sale. I can't wait to see what will be on sale this March. :)

  4. Lol, I totally get ya. Love the students in my classroom, but I'm so glad they go home after 7 hours of teaching, LOL!

Hope you'll feel a lot better this week, a week without headaches!

  5. I can't stop laughing at the Spirited Away meme (I swear every meme that involves Chihiro getting chased by Kaonashi is funny to me). Sorry to hear about your week though. Headaches suck but I hope you're feeling a bit better now. Here's to hoping the upcoming weeks will be good to you. *sends hugs*

  6. I read the Kiss Quotient. I read the second one in the series as well, but to me it was kind of one of those eye candy books where you skim around, although those books are pretty good as well.

  8. I am so sorry you had that long headache Nicci! I know how it can drain you! let's hope next week will be way better. And I feel the same as far as Kylie Scott's books are concerned so ...crossing my fingers for you!

  9. Glad to hear your horrible headache went away! Those are the worst. I LOVED The Wallflower Wager, my favorite of the series. Hope you do, too. I'm nervous about Kylie Scott after having a miss (I think it was the same book for us) so I'll be interested in your thoughts on her newest.

  10. Oh man, thankfully my migraines are usually a one or two day things, I can't imagine dealing with headache pain for 4 straight days! I would be sleeping a lot too in that case!
I liked your comment about liking babies you can give back to their parents! I am the same way. They are super cute, but I don't want one to keep.

  11. I myself don't have kids, but I love kids especially when I can also hand them back to their parents at the end of the day 😂 What a fun weekend!

  12. My daughter had the headache week with vertigo and just felt bad. I had a scratchy throat and felt tired. I hope we are done with it. We are done with the freezing nights so yay!

I LOVE the babies. Thanks for reading along the Mercy Thompson with us. It's such a great series and I can NOT believe some details I have forgotten in the 8 years since I read it the first time. I am LOVING the books

I hope this week is much better and you have great weather too. Enjoy your reads!

  13. "Work was evil" haha that made me laugh. :) Glad you had some nice baby visiting but ugh sorry to hear about the headache. That's no fun...

Love the "When's the sequel" graphic!!

  14. What a miserable headache. I had an allergy attack last night (I sat right next to my mom at dinner and she has cats - ugh) so I had to take an antihistamine as soon as I got home. Those knock me out. So I woke up this morning with no allergy attack... but had a headache. Gah! Off to a rough start this week. LOL

  16. I love babies, my youngest is 14 now though so the hard work of actually having one is a rosy blur.
I’m sorry to hear of your headache, take care of yourself.

Wishing you a great reading week
