Weekly Update #98

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

Another week has passed and I honestly have no idea where the time went!
This week wasn't a bad one - hurray! - but it wasn't exciting or overly notable.
I got sick with the looming lurgy that was hovering last Sunday but it didn't really stop me from going about my business which was a good thing as work was busy. However, it did result in me neglecting housework in favour of reading and TV in the evenings as I ached too much to move. What a shame... 😜

I seem to have fallen into a habit of catching up on people's posts at the weekend rather than visiting during the week (save the odd post that I catch during lunch or whatever) but it seems to be working for me so I'm not going to fret over it but I do apologise in advance for binge commenting, lol.

Storm Ciara has hit the UK and the winds are up at 80mph at the moment so I'm going to hibernate again today. (I shouldn't be as excited about this as I am!)

I'm so excited to see what comes next for Cassie, Pritkin and the gang!

Sweep With Me - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
My only complaint with this one was that it was a novella thus too short!

The Duchess Deal - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was utterly charming. I can see why Tessa Dare is such a hit in the historical/regency romance scene.

Tell Me To Stay - ⭐⭐ 1/2
This was a hot mess.  Apparently, it was a novella that was adapted to be a short novel and it was ridiculous. Patchy, jumpy and the characters had the depth of a puddle. It was all about the sex and not much else.

Finished You season 2
Got halfway through Lost In Space S2.

Anyone else been watching Picard?
I'm not much of a trekkie but the professor is so we've been watching and so far it's not too bad!

Review: Demigods and Magicians by Rick Riordan
Cover Reveal: The Rich Boy by Kylie Scott
Sunshine Blogger Awards - Late but better than never!!

I have no idea! Need to work that out today.

Have a great week all!

  1. I felt the same way during my wrap up. I sort of only really go to and from work these days. It's 12.5 hours of every weekday. I am jealous of people, who accomplish other things each day. What you said about Tell Me to Stay is something that bugs me too. I don't mind sex in my romance, but I need there to be more story than sex. That's why I don't read erotica.

  2. The storm has been hitting us since about lunchtime yesterday. I usually love winter but all this wind constantly has me really depressed and on edge, and this virus scare isn't helping either! I think that pigeon thing is pretty accurate for me!

  3. That storm sounds wild. 80 mph winds?!! Good day to stay inside and read. I actually got completely caught up with blog hopping/commenting this week and I swear it was a first. Good feeling but we'll see how long it lasts. Ha.

  5. I have such a hard time visiting during the week. By the time I get home from work my brain is kinda fried!
Hopefully the storm passes quickly! That is some high winds!

  6. Storms always make me excited too so I get it. Those are high winds though. We had a storm pass through last week that knocked my power out for 12 hours but our winds were only 60mph.

  7. I do the same weekend binge commenting most of the time. I feel guilty about it, but you go what you can do. :)

  9. Yes... rain is lashing down and the wind is howling around the house as I type. Hope you are safe from any thought of flooding and that the coming week is a good one:))

  10. I hope you are safe in the storm. I would be nesting myself with no apology. We've been having mild weather, but some rain. This week will be rainy again and then colder. I go in spurts on blog visiting but try to do what I can on Sunday so I don't have to worry about it during the week other than emails from my blog subscriptions.

Have an amazing week! Happy reading.

  11. I rarely make it around the blogosphere during the week. It's just too hard! I need to get on You, but I keep thinking I should read the book first. Happy reading!

  12. 80mph wind?! Holy moly. We get 55mph and while that isn't uncommon here, it can still wreck havoc on the area. Stay safe!

  13. 80 mph- yikes. It's been windy here (not like that though) but it's been all snow, not rain. Hope your area wasn't hit too bad.

    Shatter the Earth- nice cover.

I haven't watched Picard yet but I've been hearing good things. Hope your week is good!

  14. The weeks go by so quickly when you're busy. Hope you feel better. I end up catching up with blog stuff on the weekend, too, because I'm super busy during the week and just getting my books read and posted is a feat for me, lol! I try, though. :)

I loved Sweep With Me, too! Yay for trying out Tessa Dare. She one of my favorite historical romance writers. The Wallflower Wager is my favorite of this series!

  15. Wow on the winds. I am holding out for the audio from Andrews even though I bought the novella. I love Tessa Dare, glad you tried her!

  16. I love binge commenters! lol

I'm not a Trekkie but I always loved Jean Luc Picard and TNG so I will definitely be watching that series at some point.

I need to try Dare too.

  17. I am definitely that pigeon. Definitely.
I hope you're feeling better and got lots of hibernation time in over the weekend. That's always so nice. :)

  19. I hear ya on the permanently exhausted pigeon! I keep trying to train my brain to deny it and say I have lots of energy! Sweep with Me looks amusing :) Have a great week.

  20. We all have those weeks. I can't wait to go on maternity leave so that I can have some downtime before baby arrives. I hope you are all safe with the storm hitting <3 Take care and keep warm. Ilona Andrews has been on my reading list for way too long... sigh!
