Weekly Update #89

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

This was a week of work, Christmas shopping and Christmas decorating.
Today will be another day of cleaning and prepping and doing and I'm so tired!
I've had stuff needing doing every single day and I just need Christmas break to arrive now!
However!
I know when I sit down tonight, I'll have that special kind of satisfaction that comes when you've achieved all you set out to do so that'll be nice and next week will be a much calmer week hopefully full of lots of books!

I was so lucky to win Tanya's Black Friday Book Bonanza giveaway but with the busy week, I haven't taken a moment to pick up any books yet!

ARCs

I  got an ARC of Glass Half Full by Katia Rose but it doesn't haven't a cover yet!

I also was granted a Netgalley wish for a copy of The Life and Letters of Emma Hamilton.

It's non-fiction and I rarely read non-fiction nowadays.
But I'm a military history freak and am fascinated by Lord Admiral Nelson and when you mix this with my romance-loving heart, it should be no surprise that I can't resist the tales of him and Emma Hamilton.
I'm so excited and nervous to read this!

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I started about four different books this week but only finished Drop Dead Gorgeous (part of The Journals of Octavia Hollows audio) by Stacey Rourke.

American Demon - the book that marks a return for Kim Harrison to The Hollows - now has a cover!

Is it June yet?!

The Knight Before Christmas

It was a complete cheese-fest of epically unbelievable and cringe-worthy proportions.
And I thoroughly enjoyed it.
😆

Oh yes, it's that time of year!

  1. I still need to finish Christmas decorating (the tree is up and with a few decorations, but the rest of the house is still very un-Christmas decorated). There is nothing better than sitting down at the end of the day and realize that you accomplished everything you set up to do on that day. :)

Those are my cats!!!! If we had dogs, they would definitely blame them.

    Happy readings!

  2. I've got a pile of clothes that need to be handwashed and I hate it! But until I can get a washing machine (which will now be after the festives are over)I need to just get on with it! This week will be all about the General Election for me and trying to stay calm for the results!

  3. Lol at your description of Knight before Christmas! I am the same - I love those cheesy happy movies! :)

And I CAN'T WAIT for the newest Hollows books!!!!!! She lives about an hour from me, I hope that this means that she will be doing another book signing when it comes out!

  4. Doesn't it sometimes feel like the holidays are one long to-do list? It's exhausting. And I spend so much time getting it all done that I find the holidays pass in a blur without me having time to slow down, stop, and enjoy. Makes me a little sad every year.

Sometimes those cheesy movies are just what you need. :)

  6. I hear you on the overwhelmed-by-holiday-prep front. I hope this week will be more relaxing for you. I have a ton to do before getting on a plane this week; I'm looking forward to relaxing afterward!

  7. Holiday prep is wearing me out too. I think I'm going to finish more of my to-do list today so I might settle in and watch that Knight Before Christmas cheese fest. It sounds perfect, lol.

  8. I don't know what it is about the holidays, but I crave those cringe worthy movies. LoL I will have to add this to my Netflix list.

  9. AHHH I'm so excited for American Demon. I need to reread The Hollows. I may just binge read it April & May.

This time of year is typically exhausting, but I do love it. The best part though is - like you said- that feeling of accomplishment when you settle in and have accomplished so much.

HOpe you have a great & not too stressful week!

  10. Well I took a different strategy and am not doing any holiday prep. It's working great. lol. I'll make some yummy food and I guess this week we will get a tree. I do know exactly where the decorations are. I'm glad you have yours mostly completed so you can enjoy this week. You have some really interesting new reads. Enjoy!
