Guys, it's official. I have officially, officially, lost my blogging mojo.
I'm just so tired!
I got one post up this week. One. And that was because it was already scheduled.
It'll probably be the same this coming week (because it's scheduled) and while I want to try and get the draft posts finished and posted, I'm sitting here writing this exhausted (despite waking up only a couple of hours ago) and having to admit a temporary defeat.
My body (and thus my brain) is a wee bit broken at the moment so I need to focus the energy I have on family and the job that pays the bills.
I have a few events this week that are going to take a lot out of me with the way I'm feeling - but I really want to go to them - so I'm going to have to dig deep this week... It's a fine line with my level of CFS between pushing myself just enough and pushing myself too far and paying for it in a big way.
So yeah...
That's a rambling way of saying that I'm going to take this week to just read and nap and try and pick myself up off the floor and not do any blogging.
I will be visiting and reading posts but I'll probably work my way around everyone slowly as my brain is working at the speed of a slug and my personality, at present, is about as charming...
£1.99 Sale - Protect The Prince by Jennifer Estep
99p Sale - We Met In December by Rosie Curtis and Royally Yours by Emma Chase
Freebie - Mate Finder by Leia Stone

⭐⭐⭐⭐
The mood for some MC bad boys struck last week so I read this one that'd been on the kindle for a while and really enjoyed it.
The Big Bang Theory rewatch continues!
We're on S9 now and therefore back in territory I remember clearly... It's still funny though.

Maybe you should officially take a break from blogging. I know that has helped me a lot.
ReplyDeleteI took a mini one and it helped. :)
DeleteI hope you get the R&R you need. This is the worst time of year to get rundown. It just invites the flu in.
ReplyDeleteI got sick in the end, go figure!
DeleteHope you get some rest.
ReplyDeleteI did. :)
DeleteI hope you know it's fine to step back from your blog every once in awhile. I only post a couple of times a week which is what I have time for and it makes me happy to still have my toe in this hobby without letting myself get overwhelmed by it. I hope this week is a good one, even if it's on the busier side.
ReplyDeleteNatflix&Books
Thanks!
Delete*hugs* It's okay to feel that way. Don't force yourself and take the break if you want. It's okay to take a step back to focus and prioritize the things that matter. I hope things will get better for you, Nicci.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chai!
DeleteOh I'm so sorry you are feeling so frayed. You're right - you have to put the paying job and family first. This is supposed to be a hobby, after all... And we'll all be here if you do need to step away for a while. Take care and I hope you get a chance to unwind a bit during the coming week.x
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah, I appreciate that!
DeleteThe holidays are so overwhelming and I definitely see how blogging can be a burden when so much is going on. I've taken a few breaks myself, only posting reviews most of this year, and am only just now trying to come back from that and interact with the community more. I hope you can find that easy balance again but sometimes breaks are necessary. Take care! :D

Thank you! I agree with taking breaks when breaks are needed but I'm kinda sad that it happened this time of year as it's a favourite and I had so many plans... Oh well, maybe I'll act on them next year! :)
DeleteSometimes you just need a break from what you're doing and go back to it when you feel that tingle inside! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's coming back thankfully!
DeleteI know the feeling. Sometimes it's sooo hard to balance blogging and life in general.
ReplyDeleteVery very true
DeleteHere's praying you get better.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteBalancing real life and blogging has been such a challenge for me this year too. Sounds like your body is definitely telling you to take a little break until you get some real life things off your plate.
ReplyDeleteHopefully next year will be easier!
DeleteEnjoy those naps!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week, and take care of yourself
I did! I need more though, lol.
DeleteIt's tough to balance blogging and life, particularly with a chronic illness. And even for the completely healthy, it can be tough to keep the enthusiasm going week after week, year after year. It's important to pay attention to what your body and your mind are telling you, and take time to rest when you need it. The blog will still be here when you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lark!
DeleteBeing tired makes it hard to blog. Take some time for yourself and maybe you'll recharge and get back to blogger later.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary!
DeleteNicci I really really really hope that you'll feel better and less tired soon! But take your time. Just read as it's all that began this adventure and rest!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sophie
DeleteSo sorry to hear you're struggling, Nicci. Please take care of yourself. That's top priority. Everything else can wait until you're ready for it. Managing the CFS has to be challenging.
ReplyDeleteI love the Royally series by Emma Chase. I listen to them on audio and they're so well done.
Thanks Tanya!
DeleteI totally get the burn out feeling. I haven't been reading as much either and so I don't have anything to blog about! Hopefully things improve!
ReplyDeleteFor both of us!
DeleteWow you got a nice book haul. I applaud a time of reading and napping. We all go through periods of different energy levels. Have a restful week (or more) and enjoy your reads!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Reading and napping is wonderful.
DeleteNicci, take your time to take care of you. When you're ready to blog again, we'll be here!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLooks like a great haul! Sometimes a break will be a bigger help to you when you are less busy and can come back :) Make sure to get some rest! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI don't know what CFS is but I hope you're Ok. I like the books you got this week. Crown of Shards is a good series so far. I still have yet to read Crush the King.
ReplyDeleteChronic Fatigue Syndrome. I'm lucky and my condition is only mild which means I'm fully functional I just get super super tired and easily fatigued. Some can't even get out of bed so I'll call myself lucky. :)
DeleteNo worries! We all need a break sometimes! Just try to relax and read and we will be here when you get your mojo back. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate that.
DeleteI'm sorry you've been feeling a bit worn out lately! Definitely take the week to rest as much as you can, and blogging breaks are sometimes needed. No worries!!

Thanks Lauren!
DeleteGood luck this week and hope you feel better! Blogging can be exhausting in the sense that it takes up so much time and sometimes we feel pressured to post or visit or whatever. I hope you have a relaxing week and don't sweat the blog stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas music has started here and is all over the radio lol.
Way too early! lol
DeleteWe all go through these phases so don't feel bad <3 take it easy. Most people are in need a holiday round this time of the year. I am so far behind in my posts it is silly. Protect the Prince looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your visit on my blog when you get there :)
Chanzie @ Free To Be Me
Thanks!
DeleteSometimes you just need a break. I think it's best to listen to your body and take what you need. {{HUGS}} hope you get to feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteIt sounds to me like you need a rest to recharge your batteries and just have a bit of fun. Blogging feels like a chore when we're run down so it's right to take a break and look after YOU for a bit! We'll be here when you get back!
ReplyDeleteThanks chuckles!
DeleteI definitely know that feeling!! it has kind of worked out for me that Eleanor has dance and tumbling four nights a week so we are on the go a lot. I create a bunch of posts ahead of time on the weekends she is with her dad, then post as the dates come up. I am using this upcoming weekend to try and get some *GASP* ACTUAL REVIEWS up!
ReplyDeleteActual reviews?! Oh my! :)
DeleteOh no, sorry to hear you're tired of blogging :( I've been going through that a lot, and to be honest, I don't even try to post more than 1 post a week now anymore - sometimes I don't even post that. But I think I'm getting over it now - and slowly getting back my love of blogging. And I can definitely relate to that thing were it's about how your body's dealing with it. Blogging is no fun when you're tired all the time.
ReplyDeleteI hope things get better soon!
It's not tired of blogging so much as just exhausted by life, lol. I'll pick up. :)
DeleteSAME *high five* lol
ReplyDeleteSome of it was my move but I also haven't felt like reading anyway so whatever lol
Karen @ For What It's worth
It's just one of those months I guess...
DeleteDefinitely take a rest. I've been unmotivated lately, too. I was going to catch up on my back reading in December, but now I am thinking I want to watch movies instead. ๐
ReplyDeleteDecember movies are the best!
