Erm... What happened this week?
Honestly, I can barely remember this week. It passed in a blur of eat, sleep, work, repeat, if I'm honest.
I watched a little tv, I watched a couple of movies and I started to read three different books while continuing to listen to the Red Winter audiobook.
That about sums it up!
I did get Christmas shopping started on Friday completely shocking myself because I am not that organised usually! And this weekend I finally bought blinds and curtains for various rooms in the house which was a win.
It's almost been a year since we moved in and we still had temporary ones up which had started to bug me. Now we'll hit our one year home buying anniversary with the interior pretty much exactly how we want it. The garden still needs work though... We never did get around to laying a patio etc. Ah well, a job for spring I guess!

I've started a few books but I've been scatterbrained and unable to focus on finishing anything.
Kindle Unlimited
I love the covers so hopefully, the books are good too!
Audio Purchases
I bought more audiobooks!
Both were audible deals of the day.
Song of Achilles was a couple of weeks ago but I forgot to mention it and Alice in Wonderland was yesterday.
Audio ARC
I listened to the first one of these a couple of weeks ago so am very excited to continue with the series on audio! I was going to read them on KU but listening will be better.
It means my Fraterfest is now a combination of Octavia Hollows novellas and other books now. Fingers crossed the remainder of the readathon goes better than the betting! I've finished nothing so far!
HoHoHo Readathon sign ups are open!

Re-watch of the first two Hunger Games movies!
I've never seen Mockingjay pt2 so I decided before finally doing so that I needed to rewatch.
They're so good... I'd forgotten how well they did the movies.

We've also been continuing with the Big Bang Theory rewatch and I've been enjoying Strictly Come Dancing too.
I really like this song but this live version has so much passion that I love this song!

Wow.. Christmas shopping already?! I always tell myself to do that too the next year.. but I still haven't started. I just can't figure out what to buy anyone. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!
I am starting to get my list for the kids together for Christmas but I can't start shopping until next month after my daughters birthday.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in my house for about 19 years and I am still not sure if I like how it is. lol It does need a good do over which might be my project next year.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Nicci! Happy Reading!
We've been in our house for 4 years and I feel like there is a never ending list of things we want to do. Sadly, these things cost money.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!!!
Wow you're really early with Christmas shopping. I'm totally jealous. You'll be done in no time at all and able to enjoy the season!
ReplyDeleteI've been having troubles focusing on books too. I get one or two books a month that suck me in but lately I feel like stuck in a slump so I get it. Hope it picks up for you again soon and it's only temporary!
Glad you're getting caught up on your audiobooks. Might I recommend

I can't believe Christmas is already on the horizon. This year has gone by so quickly! It feels nice to get things done around the house so congrats on getting window coverings.
ReplyDeleteI finally watched the last Hunger Games last year, and it was good. Hope you enjoy it. :)
the garden and patio give you something to look forward to. :-) love the cute little bat

Go you, with the start of Christmas shopping this year! The last few years I've been really late, but this year I MUST be more timely because we have a lot less money to go around and HUGE family to buy presents for!
ReplyDeleteAlso very impressed that you have the interior as you want it! We are now at the stage where it mostly needs redoing again... Have a great week, Nicci. I'm am very envious you managed to get Song of Achilles on a deal with audible as I'd love to listen to that one:))
I love paloma Faith!!! She was in the jury of The Voice UK right? And yes moving into a new house takes ages before everything looks as it should. Now Nicci Christmas shopping already???? LOL
ReplyDeleteLol, I’ve been living in this house for 15 years, and we still have plenty of temporary:)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
I started my Christmas shopping in February. lol
ReplyDeleteChristmas shopping? Gah! Cant’t even think about it. LOL Getting a new home all settled after a move is such a long recess. We’ve been in our house for a year and a month and it was only last month that we finally got the guest room pulled together and looking like a proper guest room - and not a storage room. That graphic is too funny. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't even think about Christmas shopping... I mean, I can't even think about Christmas because that means the year will be ending and I my last few weeks of the year (and the first two weeks as well) will be very chaotic and stressful. A lot more chaotic than my life is right now.
ReplyDeleteI love the film adaptations of The Hunger Games.
Happy readings!

I love bats. They're so cute. I need to read Song of Achilles. Happy reading!

I can't even conceptualize Christmas shopping right now. I admire your early start. I think I was more like that, when my kid was younger, but now, I don't have to worry about hot items and what not.
ReplyDeleteMy reading has been so off too! And Christmas shopping- yikes! Although I've started thinking about it, because let's be honest- it'll be here like next week or something, the way time flies lately.
ReplyDeleteI have only just started thinking about Christmas, but I have it easy. My sister and my mother and I have only been giving each other candy since my son and my first nephew were born, so more money could go to the kid's gifts. Now with them all teens+ I give my three nephews gift cards. Ha ha. My son is the only one I buy gifts for. I will enjoy this rest until I get grandchildren or grandniblings. π
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful new week. π
ooooh love the covers of your kindle unlimited books <3 Hope you week goes a bit better this week and enjoying the hunger games movies!

I used to always have my holiday shopping done by now. I've not even started yet this year. LOL And my week sounds just like yours. Passed in a blur. LOL
ReplyDeleteWow, you've started your holiday shopping?! I'm jealous, lol.
ReplyDeleteYAY for curtains and such and getting your house just perfect!! It's hard to get it all done when you're living life and just getting the day to day done. ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute wee bat! Most mornings when I get up I FEEL like I'm the darkness!!! I hear you about the garden. We've been trying to get it dealt with about five years now! When we bothered with Christmas I was close to finishing my shopping by this stage as I semi hibernate in December and January!
ReplyDeleteYes this past week is a blur.. of exhaustion. I don't see a break anytime soon. I figured you would be getting excited to read An Alchemist and an Amaretto. I expect I'll get the audio to review soon. My fall garden is doing fair but something is eating it- I might need netting or something in the spring At least the beets are under ground so they might survive Have a lovely week with some great reads!

I love that bat meme. So cute. Great job on getting Christmas shopping started. I have a few things for my mom, but that's it. I need to focus on it more because time is moving quick.
