Weekly Post #80

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

Mon-Wed work was absolutely nuts with a couple of super late finishes and early starts, but I survived! Until I fell ill.
Yep! The evil lurgies that took down the professor and little dude last week caught up to me and I spent Thursday and Friday off sick and debating whether I needed to see a doctor when the throat thing turned into a throat and ear thing.
I didn't call the doc in the end and I felt a bit better on Saturday (but still with a super sore ear!) so I'm curling up in a ball today and not moving.

Other than work and illness, I've had a quiet week where I've made lots of lists!
I've been looking at all the RARE 2020 authors and listing the authors I'm familiar with but haven't read (and would want to) and all the authors I'd never heard of and need to investigate (and possibly read) before June next year. It's been fun but holy hell I've got a lot of reading to do if I want to make the most of my first signing event!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

I finally read Sapphire Flames and I'm not going to lie, I now wish I'd waited until book two was closer! 😭 Catalina and Alessandro were awesome!

Ebook Purchase

Natasha Knight is a RARE 2020 author who I've never read (never heard of tbh) and this book was getting a lot of chatter in the RARE group so I thought, why not? I've got to start somewhere!

Audiobook Purchase

Check it out! I bought myself an audiobook... Normally, I just listen to the little dude's! 😂

The Red Winter trilogy is one of the few Annette Marie series I haven't tried yet but it gets a lot of love. I went audiobook for this series so I can listen in the car.

(Speaking of the little dude's audiobooks though, he just finished book one in the Trials of Apollo series by Rick Riordan and he is now onto book two so I may be jumping onto those soon... I've been desperate to listen to them since finishing the Heroes of Olympus series but the little snot was finishing off the Artemis Fowl series and wouldn't budge! lol. Now... It's on!)

The 9th Annual Book Bonanza Hop (hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer and Marlene @ Reading Reality) is open for sign ups!
I haven't taken part in many giveaway hops this year so I'm definitely in for this one!

Because Reading are hosting their second read a series in a month challenge of the year and sign-ups are open!

Big Bang Theory rewatch continues... We're on S8 now!

  1. Ugh, there is nothing worse than being ill like that. Throat and ear pain can make you really miserable too. I hope you are back to normal soon! The cartoon is pretty funny!

  3. I hope you're feeling better soon. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on The Red Winter. I've had that on my kindle for ages and am determined to read it before the end of 2019.

    1. It has a really slow start but it reaches a point about a third of the way that makes it pretty addictive! I'm half way through and looking for things to do that will give me listening time, lol.

  6. Oh no, sorry to hear you got sick, too! I hope today’s rest did you some good. And that this week at work is easier on you. I always have big reading goals before author/book events but they never seem to work out. LOL
