Kristen Ashley excels at the full-length novel but, imo, her novellas can be a complete hit or miss. Never-the-less I want to read it! The Dream Man series was always a fav.
The problem is, Lottie has a stalker. The really bad kind. The kind that means she needs a bodyguard.
Enter Mo Morrison.
Enormous. Scary.
Quiet.
Mo doesn’t say much, and Lottie’s used to getting attention. And she wants Mo’s attention. Badly.
But Mo has a strict rule. If he’s guarding your body, that’s all he’s doing with it.
However, the longer Mo has to keep Lottie safe, the faster he falls for the beautiful blonde who has it so together, she might even be able to tackle the demons he’s got in his head that just won’t die.
But in the end, Lottie and Mo don’t only have to find some way to keep hands off until the threat is over, they have to negotiate the overprotective Hot Bunch, Lottie’s crazy stepdad, Tex, Mo’s crew of frat-boy commandos, not to mention his nutty sisters.
All before Lottie finally gets her Dream Man.
And Mo can lay claim to his Dream Girl.
Novellas can often be a hit or miss for me - regardless of who the author is. I think it's hard to develop a story and the characters in a limited number of pages and sometimes it just doesn't happen. Hope this is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI like them when you already know the world and characters because the page time can just focus on the story and it can work. When they have to cram in world building, character development and a story it's too much.
DeleteI'm trying not to look at upcoming releases as my list is growing too much! I hope you enjoy this when you get to read it.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! I've just added a load of ARCs! Oh well...
DeleteI haven't read anything from Ashley but from the sounds of this one, I need to change that!
ReplyDeleteI like the Dream Man series and Chaos. I've read the odd book from her other series but not too many but will eventually. :)
DeleteI hate to say this as a romance reader, but I have yet to read a Kristen Ashely book, though, I own one or two. I think I got them, because Ashley is one of those oft praised authors. I hope you love this, when you read it.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteIt took me a while to settle into KA. She has a way of writing that actually drives me nuts... Crazy long sentences, weird turns of phrase etc but I got there in the end.
I haven't read this one but it sounds like the kind of book that I might like. I do like stalkers in books, it gives the danger element that I like.
ReplyDeleteKA has a few series where the stakes are high like that!
DeleteWell I wonder what this novella would be like as I usually love KA's bossy alphas ;-)
ReplyDeleteShe writes alphas gooooood.
DeleteKristen Ashley is always a great choice!
ReplyDeleteSwoony romance and sexy alphas. :)
