Monday to Friday was pretty quiet with just work and life. I re-read a couple of books and started a new series. I watched some TV. I visited blogs and tried to catch up on all the comments (sorry if I missed you!). It was nice.
We had a parent's evening at my son's school to round off the school year and I'm so pleased with how his school year has been. He's always excelled on the academic side of things but social interactions and the inter-personal stuff utterly stump him. This year, he's found his rhythm. He's still my odd little duck but he's happy, has friends, isn't disruptive or stressed, and both the professor, myself and his teachers are so freaking proud of how far he's come.
I'm just so happy that others are now able to see the quick-witted, sweet and funny little boy that we've had at home rather than the kid that keeps to himself and doesn't know how to react when someone says hello to him, you know?
Continuing the flow of good... My friend got married yesterday! She was beautiful and it was such a lovely event. A great time was had by all.
And today, we're picking the kid up from his grandad's and we're going to go see Spiderman: Far From Home.
😀

I'm obsessed I tell you! Obsessed... Why is it so long for the next one! I needs it!!! 😭

I started watching Stranger Things season 3 and binge-watched North and South while curled up super exhausted on the sofa... Mmmm, Richard Artimage. 😍

I'm glad to hear that your son is happy in school, as a teacher that is always my #1 goal!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy too!
DeleteIt sounds like your son is finding himself and adapting well so you must be delighted!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time coming.
DeleteIt's always wonderful when and if our children find their niche at school and are able to enjoy the social side of it as well as do well academically. Glad your son has managed this:). Hope you enjoy the Spiderman film - it should be a lovely way to end a really good week:))
ReplyDeleteIt's taken a long time so I'm so happy he has got there!
DeleteAwwwww! I'm so happy for your son!! He must be so happy now.
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
He's coming into his own. As a parent, that's all you can really hope for I think!
DeleteThat's so awesome about your son! Congrats to you and him for doing so well. School can be so tough.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Stranger Things 3 this week. It feels good to binge a show again lol.
Have a great week!
School is brutal so I'm glad he's had a really good year.
DeleteI'm not feeling this season of Stranger Things yet but I still have a way to go!
Glad your sone is having a awesome school year.
ReplyDeleteI haven't started Stranger Things yet. I still need to watch season 2 but my kids want to watch it so we might do a binge together. Love the cover of those books, I need to check them out! :)
Have a great week, Nicci! Happy Reading! xx
Thanks Michelle!
DeleteGlad to hear how well your son is progressing! Your friend's wedding sounds like a fun time.
ReplyDeleteRoomies wasn't my favorite CL, but I was in the minority on that so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Happy reading, Nicci! :)
I've yet to read anything by CL so we'll see how it goes!
DeleteCongrats on your son's progress in finding his niche. Enjoy your books and your viewing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog
Thank you, it's long overdue!
DeleteI'm glad your son is finding friends and feeling more comfortable at school.
ReplyDeleteThe Guild Codex books look both interesting and fun. I just bought the first one; I figure that if you are that obsessed with them, they are worth checking out. :-)
The Guild Codex books are my current obsession! I can't love them any more than I do.
DeleteI hope you enjoy the Spider man movie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, it was fun!
DeleteI'm jealous of your quiet week. Just a few weeks ago I was complaining about not having much to do and now I'm stressing about getting everything done in time. :(
ReplyDeleteI was the kid who didn't know how to react when someone said "hello". I'm still like that sometimes these days... Anyway, I'm so happy to hear your son is doing great. He seems such an amazing kid! :)
Happy readings! ;)
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
Thats usually the way of things... Super busy one minute and quiet the next. I'd love some balance, lol.
DeleteI feel you Nicci about your kid opening up and going out of his shell! My son had difficulties interacting with other kids too and it broke my heart! So rejoice!
ReplyDeleteI am! It's so lovely.
DeleteOh, that Richard Armitage!!! I wish I could rewatch the series every week, just to see his intense look and hear his voice:-D
ReplyDeleteHe is yummy.
DeleteI'm glad your son is doing so well. As parents, a lot of times our happiness depends a lot on theirs. I want to see the new Spiderman! It looks so good! Have fun at the movies! I'm loving your book haul this week, and what a great deal you got on Roomies!

I hate the helplessness that comes with so many of the things that affect them but I'm happy he's finally adapting.
DeleteYou just tugged at my heart talking about your son. That's awesome that he is coming into his own and people are appreciating him.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad! It's a constant worry.
DeleteAww happy to read that your son is doing well socially. That is such a milestone for a kid and great happiness for the parents. I hope he continues to do well. I'm just a blogger visiting your blog but I'm proud of your son.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to watch Far From Home but I'm seeing spoilers already and that took out the fun for me.
I loved Far From Home but I'm not going to lie that it broke my heart.
DeleteI am loving the Annette Marie series too. I just got Two Witches and a Whiskey from the library on audio. Now to find time to listen. I'm so happy your son is doing well. Have a lovely week!
