I haven't been online much this week. I've been busy with work and in the evenings I've been doing the boring adulty stuff like housework and laundry which for some reason has completely dominated any free time I would usually have.
I'll catch up on blog visits and stuff this coming week and get some posts up on the blog too for the blog stuff got a bit neglected!
On a positive note, I got my leave sorted for the little dude's summer break from school and I'm so excited as rather than taking a two week chunk and him having to go to grandparents etc for the rest of the holiday, I'm taking Mondays and Fridays off, every week of his holiday, thus only having three day work weeks from the end of July until September!
It's going to be awesome.
Lots of mini trips and he'll still get to see/stay with family Tue-Thursday... It's just less time for him to get out of any kind of routine and go feral! 😆
The little dude and professor went to (the youtube gamer) DanTDM's arena tour last night and from the pictures, the little guy had a fabulous time... Not sure what the professor thought but since it was for the little dude, I guess whether the professor had fun is moot, lol.

And read this one on a KU impulse:
⭐⭐⭐ 1/2
And read (and reviewed) these kiddie's ones:
Iced Out was sweet but nothing special.
If The Shoe Fits was so much fun and a very different spin on Cinderella.
Cherry Blossoms and Paper Planes was absolutely beautiful!

Kindle Unlimited
This one was clicked due to a pesky FB advertisement. Thankfully it was an ok read!
Paperback
Saw it half price while food shopping so finally grabbed it!
Kimberly talks blog maintenance!
The Sharknado Read-a-thon is begins today!
This is part of the COYER Summer Treasure Hunt and I'll be doing this one. It's about reading books off the physical bookshelf and I must admit I neglect those!
Runs Sunday, July 7 – Saturday, July 13

I watched a few more episodes of Lucifer and I watched the final episodes of The Big Bang Theory (I had 4/5 left of the final season).
The Big Bang Theory's ending was lovely. They did well with that one.
As I said, it has been a very quiet one!

DeleteHow nice to be able to work with your company for those days. I need to read the new Sophie Kinsella. I haven't read her last three or four but used to love her. Happy reading!

My kid did. :)
DeleteAwesome to get Monday and Fridays off for the Summer! I'm still waiting on my copy of Annette Marie's series, and I'm even more excited hearing you loved them enough to do a re-read! Good to hear they did well with the ending of The Big Bang Theory. I'm still binging the series. I think I'm on Season 2? Not sure. We'll watch like 2-3 episodes. I didn't watch it when it aired originnally, but I love it and binging is fun! :)
ReplyDeleteYeay! I'm so glad you're going to read it! I'm actually obsessed. I want summer to be over (even though I'm loving it) just so I can get my hands on the next books!
DeleteI looove Lucifer! Just throwing that out there! I was going to pick and reply to things in order of your post but then I got distracted, haha, oops. But, in all seriousness, I hope you enjoy the last few episodes you have left of it. Also, back to the bookish finds, I need to read more by Sophie Kinsella. Hope you enjoy that one and that the upcoming week treats you well!
ReplyDeleteI love Lucifer too! It's so much fun!
DeleteOh having 4 day weekends for a month or so sounds lovely!! And I agree-the end of The Big Bang Theory was perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt made me all warm and happy.
DeleteThat's awesome you'll have days off with your son through the rest of his summer! And less workdays is always nice in general. :)

ReplyDeleteYour work arrangement sounds ideal..good on your employer!
Have a great reading week
My employer is pretty awesome with flexible working.
DeleteI am so glad your leave is sorted out and you'll be able to spend more time with your son on his break. I hear you on the adulting. It gets in the way of blogging--and reading. Annette Marie's books look like such fun! Just looking at the covers I can tell I'd probably enjoy them too. Ooo! Kinsella! It's been a while since I read one of her books. I enjoy her writing style. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI've re-read this Annette Marie series twice since starting it a month ago. I just adore it! I can't wait for the next book and the sister series... I'm practically wishing my summer away to get to them! lol
DeleteThis is a great schedule you'll have for summer break! There will be a lot of quality time)))
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so much fun! I'm already plotting our activities.
DeleteColor me jealous of your 3-day work weeks! And the fact that you get to do that all summer... lucky lady! :) I’m kind of marveling that your grocery store has books. Food + books... that’s my kind of store! LOL
ReplyDeleteThey don't have that varied a collection but every once in a while I find something I like. :)
DeleteI'm so excited for 3 day work weeks... The problem will be in September when I go back to normal! lol
ooooh what a neat plan for your son's vacation!! It sounds like the perfect balance 3 workdays and 4 day weekends. WOOT! Hahaha. I hear you about chores too. Why are they taking so much time?! WHY!? ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like uyou have such a fun summer lined up with your family! I bet they're going to enjoy all of the mini trips and spending time with you! Congrats on all the reading and reviews that you got in!
