Weekly Update #63

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

Well this has been a super soggy week! Rain, rain... And some more rain.
As a result, we went into full-on sloth mode and didn't leave the house to do much beyond school, work and the little dude's fencing all week.
It made for excellent reading and lots of family time playing games and Minecraft.
😊

Audiobook

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The series ended with a bang!
I'm really going to miss these characters... Although, I think we see them again in the Trials of Apollo series so hopefully, I won't have to miss them for too much longer! Until then, I'm going to start listening to another of Rick Riordan's series on the kid's suggestion. Next up, The Kane Chronicles!

⭐⭐

I... Have no idea how I managed to finish this one.
Possibly because it was like 100 pages and I was feeling particularly masochistic? Or maybe because the ridiculousness of this book made me laugh so I just kept going?
Either way, many will love this for the sexy alpha romp it is but it's a no from me.

Three Mage and a Margarita - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dark Arts and A Daiquiri - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

These are so much fun!
Today is day three since downloading and I'm already on book three. I'm seriously addicted...

Kindle Unlimited

This series caught my eye a while back and seeing it being reviewed by Kimberly this week prompted me to get reading!

Won

This lovely one arrived in the post yesterday! My first ever bookish giveaway win!
😀

The Deserted Island Read-a-thon has begun as part of the COYER Summer Treasure Hunt!

Description
Your treasure hunt has landed you on a deserted island… what books do you want with you? For this read-a-thon you’re making a list of the books you’d want with you. The twist is, you have to read them all in the given time, so make your list wisely. You must have at least one book (no less than 125 pages) on your list and all books fall under Summer COYER rules, so they can be any price and obtained from any legal location in any format. Completing this Read-a-thon successfully will earn you 5 points on the treasure hunt. This Read-a-thon will run Sunday, June 9 – Saturday, June 22.

My list for this readathon is:

Two Witches and a Whiskey - Annette Marie
Demon Magic and a Martini - Annette Marie
Biker Baby  - Penny Dee
No Kissing Under The Boardwalk - Kate Angell
Twilight Desires - Amanda Ashley

Still on Lucifer...

We also watched Up this weekend and omg that is quite possibly the saddest kid's film I have ever seen!

I never thought I'd say this but I think I like this version more than the original.
It takes a minute or so to really get into it but oh my... All the feels.

  1. Ahhh... now that looks like a great Kindle Unlimited find, I'm going to go check out Annette Marie. Hope it stops raining enough to emerge from sloth mode. :)

  2. Doesn't the Desert Island Readathon sound fun?!

We had a huge day of rain as a tropical storm swept in. Our streets flooded and I was worried that some of the low-lying areas might have homes that flooded, but fortunately the rain stopped just in time.

    Congratulations on your book win!

    Have a lovely week.

    1. I've been worried about flooding because of a broken gutter pipe but so far we've been good!
Glad there was no flooding in your area too.

  3. Rainy days are great for reading! Or just napping... I've been working (and need to work all day today) so I haven't been paying much attention to the weather. I did get out yesterday and it was a beautiful day, warm but not too hot.

The urban fantasy series by Annette Marie looks like fun. I'm glad you're enjoying it! I don't think I'll be doing COYER this summer. I have several year-round challenges, and I've been feeling over-extended. But I might change my mind before the deadline to join.

  4. Good for you for winning that book. I've always wanted to watch Lucifer, is it any good. I'm watching Dead to Me on Netflix.

  5. Hopefully the rain slows soon! And yes, Up is so sad!!!!! I was like "Who would do this to the adults who have to bring the kids to see this?!?"

  6. I finished Lucifer and I felt this season was completely underwhelming. I will be reading the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo this week. Have a great week ahead.

  18. Thanks for those thoughts on King Size. I needed a good laugh. Back when my daughter lived with me, if it weathered on the weekend, she would try to get me to go food shopping, but I held pretty firm to not leaving the house except for work when there was weather.

  20. I will gladly take your rain! It is HOT here! The weather has been muggy the last few days, and it's even sprinkled a few times, but no actual rain. I can't breathe when I go outside, and it's miserable.
