This has been a pretty quiet week with not a lot to report beyond sport's day at the little dude's school and my mum arriving for a weeks holiday on Saturday.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming week as we have a bank holiday weekend (off work on Monday) and I have a couple of days additional leave at the end of the week so only two days in the office.
*happy dance*

I finished my Read A Series In A Month Challenge!!
OMG, I absolutely loved it too. The world building is amazing, the characters are awesome and the stories utterly engrossing.
I was so upset when I found out book 7 is the final book and that there is no release date available!
Sale
I got Stygian for 99p and The Priory of the Orange Tree for under £2 on kindle which is just insane!
I'm grateful though for both are incredibly beefy books that'd give me wrist injuries if I tried to read the physical copies! 😆
Freebie
Layla Hagen is a RARE2020 author so grabbing one of her books while free seemed like a good idea!
Karen over at For What It's Worth muses on whether reading YA makes you a better/more empathetic parent.
Jen shares a post on spoilers... I'm with Jen in that I sometimes like spoilers as it reduces my anxiety over what's going to happen and lets me enjoy the book.

Finished GoT... I'm going to be in the minority but I actually didn't mind the ending. I had major problems with the execution of it all but the fates of the characters? Nope, no real problems with that.
I started binge watching season one of Lucifer on Prime this week... It's fun. Ridiculous, but really fun.

Book Blogger Hop: Do you continue with a book even though you aren't liking it?
Have a great week all!
Nice. Short work weeks are the best kind. I hope it is fun and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI love short work weeks.
DeleteWhat? The Priory for only 2 £???? Wow! Enjoy (but seeing the thickness of the hardback I'd say even a three days weekend won't be enough) ;-)
ReplyDeleteYep! It'll take me weeks to read it, lol.
DeleteI'm glad you got a show to binge watch. I like reading spoilers sometimes too, especially if there's a book everyone's raving about but there's no clear indication of what that book is about.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteEnjoy your reading and the visit from your Mom.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYay for only 2 days of work! And I liked only Sansa's ending and Tyrion's. The rest, not so much.
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
Sansa and Tyrion has great endings.
DeleteI have a three day work week. I am very happy about it! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so annoyed Priory was 99 cents, I spend 9.99 on it but it's ok. My fault for not waiting.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Nicci! Happy Reading!
PS YAY for finishing your Series in a Month! :)
Priory was 1.89 (the other way .99) but close enough! I understand why it'd be annoying. :(
DeleteIt's always good to get away. I have off for four days at the start of this week. And then four days on. I'm just trying to not think about work as I start the week. Enjoy your time off.
ReplyDeleteI will! Thank you. :)
DeleteGlad you are enjoying Lucifer! I still need to watch the last season but I'm excited to do so! I hope you'll enjoy your new books, I really liked Priory of the Orange Tree!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Thanks!
DeleteWell done on reading your series in a month! And I've seen The Priory of the Orange Tree on sale on amazon but I'm not the biggest Fantasy fan so haven't picked it up. Yet!
ReplyDeleteI couldnt resist at that price for such a new release!
DeleteLucifer is one I want to binge. I am super excited about Good Omens coming to Prime on the 31st.
ReplyDeleteGood Omens is definitely going on the watch list.
DeleteOnly 2 days of work is one of the best things ever! The Little Vintage Carousel By The Sea sounds really good! I'm looking for a show to binge watch since all my regular shows are on hiatus.
ReplyDeleteLucifer! :)
DeleteHurray for a calm week! I hope you love Priory - I've heard great things about that one. I'm glad you enjoyed the GoT finale more than I did. XD
ReplyDeleteI think the GoT finale really split peoples opinion.
DeleteI loved Lucifer but I don't have Netflix so I haven't watched the most recent season. I hope you enjoy Stygian, I sure did.
ReplyDeleteEverything I watch is pretty much Netflix or Prime as we don't have satellite or cable.
DeleteEnjoy your time off! Hope you have a great week. I did like some of the GoT results. Sansa being Queen of the North made me happy, and I'm glad her, Arya and Jon survived. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the Kalayna Price book look fun.
The Kalanya Price books were awesome! Really recommend!
DeleteI never got into GOT but maybe someday I will binge watch. Sounds like you had some really good reading. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to rewatch it but it's a huge commitment...
DeleteI LOVE Lucifer and have watched all the episodes (even the new 4th season on Netflix) at least 4 times; it's why Netflix got my subscription! Lol!
ReplyDeleteNot every week has to be full of excitement.
I have you have a lovely week and read some great stories. x
Thanks.
DeleteI have both Prime and Netflix. I love them so much!
Ah I feel the same way about GoT. Ok with what happened just not how they got there!! Enjoy your holiday and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWe finished binge watching Lucifer last week, I’m not a fan of GoT though. Congrats on getting those bargains, Priory is on my wishlist
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week
Lucifer is definitely binge-able
DeleteTwo day weeks are the best. The Priory of the Orange Tree is a steal and so worth the ecopy. Lucifer is fun though I lost interest after the season 3.I hope you have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteGayathri @ Elgee Writes
I need a lot of time to read Priory... All those pages!
DeleteHope you have a great time with your Monday off!!
ReplyDeleteI have Thursday and Friday off too! This is an awesome week. :)
DeleteI loved it when I knew a holiday was coming up. I hope you enjoy your days off.
ReplyDeletePriority of the Orange Tree looks like a great read. Can't wait to hear what you think.
Have a lovely week!
It sounds so good but it'll take a while to wade through those pages!
DeleteI want to try Alex Craft! I need a new UF series. Glad to hear you enjoyed the ending of GoT. It does seem like a lot didn't like it. Wonder how the author will end the books.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading, Nicci! :)
Yeay! You should totally read Alex Craft! It's right up there with The Hollows and Kate Daniels for me.
DeleteI need to watch Lucifer; I'm currently going through the seasons of iZombie that are on Netflix.
ReplyDelete-Lauren

Haven't seen that one! Zombies make me nervous but there are a couple I'm curious about... i Zombie and The Santa Clarita Diet in particular.
DeleteWe're watching the current season of Lucifer. My weekly updates
ReplyDeleteI'm new to Lucifer but it wont take me long to binge it. It's so fun!
DeleteOverall it was very much a GRRM ending wasn't it-bittersweet, just as he described. Dany was always going to be Mad Queen and her temper is there to see from season one. The focus on Bran in season one meant he had a big purpose. The Starks dominated the books with Tyrion and they survive. Jon gets his wish to live free. Jaime dies with the woman he loves. It all made sense to me! Wish there had been the full 10 episodes in the last two seasons though.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely bittersweet.
DeleteMy sister loves Lucifer! I plan on checking it out! How fun that your mom's coming to visit. Enjoy your long weekend off :)
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
Lucifer is so much fun! You should totally give it a try!
DeleteKalayna Price is a new to me author. Loving the covers. Lucifer is a fun series. Enjoy your time with your mom.
