Weekly Update #47

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

I survived another week of super stress! Woohoo! In fact, I survived the week which was the cause of all the flipping stress in the past weeks so I'm a happy bunny now.
With luck, next week will go smoothly and then all the drama is - hopefully - done for a while.

In between work stresses, I read some good books, bought lots of new books, completed my final blog tour commitment (I'm out of those for a while) and generally just chilled with my family.

We saw How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World last weekend and it was awesome. I cried. Like, majorly blubbered. I freaking love those movies and the tv shows.

I took the little dude to a Harry Potter event at our local library and he had a blast. The library staff had gone all out to create a fun-filled themed event for the kids with lots of activities and the smiles were wide and infectious.

All in all, a good week even with the work bumph so I'm happy.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

My thoughts on this one have already been written up (link further down) and I liked it. It was a really good introduction to a pretty grim world.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Again, I've been a good girl and already written my review for this one (link further down) and I LOVED it. Dark, twist and naughty...

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I started reading this as part of the HoHoHo Readathon back in November but then I got busy, ill and then hit a reading slump so it sat half read and neglected.
I went back and forth a few chapters at a time throughout January and I finally finished it!

It was a really sweet, festive, feel-good story and I actually enjoyed it a lot.

February is the month I'm saying goodbye to Chaos... So, I buy.

99p Sale

The entirety of Tillie Cole's Hades Hangmen series is on sale! All 6 backlist novels and the 2 novellas!
The only one in the series that's not is book 7, the new one, and that's okay because I now have 8 books/novellas to read before I get there...

Kindle Unlimited

I decided to read book one before reading book two for the blog tour!

I finished DC Titans and I really enjoyed it!
Looking forward to season two.

I smiled, I laughed, I cried like a big baby. I love these characters so much and I'm gutted that this is the end but it was a lovely and befitting end to a lovely film/tv franchise.
(No, I haven't read the books. Hangs head in shame.)

It's been a quiet one!
I took part in no weekly link-ups or anything like that, just posted some reviews...

I'm talking about my favourite couples in books on Top Ten Tuesday, joining the romance is in the air giveaway hop and continuing to catch up on those pesky reviews... Even though no one reads them! 😆

Have a great week all!

  6. I'm glad you survived the stress! Work stress makes it so hard for me to get any reading in when I get home.

  7. Fingers crossed that things have calmed down at work for a while. Stressful times at the office just take it out of me physically as well as mentally. The HP event sounds like a lot of fun! I nabbed most of the Hades Hangmen series, too. :) I already owned books 1 and 2 so I grabbed 3 through 6. Now to dive into the series and give Tillie Cole another try. I've only read one by her and truly disliked it but several people told me it was not her norm. Sooo, hopefully this series will change my mind.

  10. Way to survive the week!!! And it sounds like you got to do some fun stuff with the little guy too. I feel bad that you have had such negative experiences with your tours. I guess I have been really lucky with mine.
