I've been awol from the interwebs!
It's been a strange two weeks...
I got promoted at work - yeay! - but it meant that my workload pretty much doubled within days so with that and finishing off sorting the old house for handover, and planning a wedding, I was kept crazy busy with not a lot of time for fun things. Then, I fell ill with a vile lurgy of absolute evilness. It was miserable.
I was miserable. Everything hurt, even my freakin' eyeballs hurt!
I could afford a couple of days to wallow in my misery but then I had to get back out the door and back to sorting the house and back to work and a couple of days just wasn't enough to get over whatever virus has invaded me. It's been over a week and I still feel like I'm dying.
😭
Something had to give in order for me to semi-function the last couple of weeks and, sadly, it meant I barely got any reading done, I abandoned the blog and my NaNoWriMo project is dead. Seriously, the only time I spent on my laptop was when I ordered the weekly food shop online and that was so I didn't have to deal with people in the supermarket!
The keys to the old house get given back this week and - with luck! - the lurgy will pass so hopefully I'll get back to normal now...

I'm working my way through Veiled by Stacey Rourke, Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones, and One New York Christmas by Mandy Bagot but I've finished none of them.
Last week, I read:

Nothing.

Blog tour for Vlad by Stacey Rourke.
Sorry, you have been sick. I know how that goes. Hopefully this week will be better and you will get more settled and have some time to relax and feel better.

DeleteOoh, feel better soon! You have too many things going on to be struck down by the VILE LURGY!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be so happy to finally close the door on your previous house, so you can settle in to the new one. Enjoy!
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
It was such a relief to close that door for the final time!
DeleteSorry youre sick! I got some kind of stomach virus and feel like death. Thankfully I am off work until Tuesday so I have some time to get past it!
ReplyDeleteHopefully this week is better!
:( It's the season of the lurgy. Hope you feel better soon too!
DeleteHopefully whatever you have will be gone soon. It's never fun being sick.
ReplyDeleteNope, it royally blows and I caught something new too rather than getting better. :(
DeleteCongrats on the promotion. That's great!! Sorry you've been ill though. That sucks. Thankfully there is Netflix right?!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!
Thank you.
DeleteI live for Netflix at the moment!
Congratulations on the promotion, how exciting! I'm sorry it fell right at the same time as one of those winter bugs though :/ I hope you start to feel better soon ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks!

DeleteCongratulations on your promotion! Sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well, good thing you have Netflix to help. I wanted to see Forever My Girl, I read the book and enjoyed. I hope you feel better soon and have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteI think Forever My Girl will be tomorrows movie. I have the book but haven't read it. :/
DeleteSorry to hear you were sick and with so much to do on top of it! Hope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to hear how Forever My Girl is. Didn't realize it was on Netflix. Hope this next week is better for you! :)
I don't know if it's on Netflix in the US but it's on the British one. :)
DeleteWorth a look!
Congratulations on your promotion! Well done! But what a terrible time to get sick. (Not that there’s ever a good time to get sick.) At least you got some good movie watching in. Silver linings! :)
ReplyDeleteThe timing has been awful... But as you say, silver linings! The Christmas movies have been lovely. I dont normally have time to watch many of those.
DeleteI'm so sorry you've been sick! As you say, there's never a good time, but this seems to have been worse timing than usual. I hope you get over the dreadful lurgy soon, and everything else goes smoothly. Congratulations on your promotion, and I hope it comes with a nice raise!
ReplyDeleteNo raise. :( That will come in April (if it's to come!)
DeleteUgh...I hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWe had to put out dog to sleep last week and I haven't been able to read since. I'm coming aroudn though and hope to squeeze a book or two in soon.
we've been Netflixing too.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
Aw Karen, I saw that on twitter. I'm so sorry for you! He was a gorgeous boy.
DeleteI'm not sure with work and moving how you could have done much even without illness. I hope you get back to normal health soon, and reading. Anne- Books of My Heart
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne!
DeleteSorry to hear you were sick but.. .Congrats on you promotion! You really were crazy busy! But I'm glad it was fun for the most part! with not a lot of time for fun things. There is always Camps NaNoWriMo in April and July and next year :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI'll probably give Camp NaNo a try. I don't have any ambition to be a writer but I've started something now and I want to finish it, just for me, you know?
Congrats with your job!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by how much I liked A Christmas Prince, so I plan to watch the sequel!
