Weekly Update #37

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

All work and no play. That's been the motto of my week.
Well, except for Monday. Monday I went out in the evening for a friends birthday.
Except from that one meal, if I haven't been at work, I've been finishing up with unpacking or I've been at our old house finishing off the removal of items we're not keeping and starting to polyfiller picture holes and the like.
I'm determined to finish off putting the old house to rights this week so that I can finally just kick back and enjoy the new house!
I want a life back! lol

⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

I couldn't make my mind up with this one on whether I really amused me or whether it really annoyed me. In fact, it did both spectacularly.
I think I'll struggle to write a review for this one!

⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

My first book of the HoHoHoRAT!
It was good but... I dunno. Something just didn't sit right with me throughout it. I debated back and forth between 3 stars and 4 stars for quite some time so settled on 3.5 stars.

99p

Hard Pressed was 99p when I bought it (and when I check it still is) but I don't know about Diamond Fire. I preordered Diamond Fire at 99p ages ago.

Kindle Unlimited

I never expected to see a Vi Keeland / Penelope Ward book available on KU! But due to some deal they have with Amazon's publishing imprint, it is!

ARCs:

This one was approved just in time for the HoHoHoRAT!
Yeay!

I haven't watched anything this week.
How weird.
*shrugs*

However, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald releases this week! How exciting is that?!

Readathon: HoHoHoRAT 2018 - Kick Off post.
Cover Reveal: Repeat by Kylie Scott
Cover Reveal:  Two Witches and  a Whiskey by Annette Marie

This is the first week in forever that I have no promo (cover reveals, blitzes, tours) scheduled!
In fact, between now and Christmas I only have 2 pre-existing promo commitments!
It feels kind of awesome.
I plan to catch up on reviews and take part in more weekly memes and hops. Between promo stuff and moving, I feel like I haven't done enough just general stuff for me, you know?
Of course, if something crops up that I'm wildly excited about, I'll probably sign up but I'm determined to keep a tight reign on myself for it all got a bit much.

Have a great week all!

  1. I know the feeling, books that don't sit with you. I've got like two of on my reading device, including Mine by J.L. Butler and Sirens by Joseph Knox.

  2. I'm reading a book now that's walking the line of annoyed/amused lol IT's a KU read so no big deal though.

  3. Good luck getting the house finally sorted. Life just doesn't feel right until you do.

Writing a review for a book that both annoyed and entertained is hard! I hope you love Diamond Fire as much as I did. :)

  5. Oh, I am still feeling the angst of my last move...11 years ago! It was from a house I sold where I had lived for thirteen years. There was so much to do, before and after. Which is why I cringe at the thought of ever moving again. But I do think longingly of moving into a newer space.

Who am I kidding? I love my proximity here to some of my favorite things...and packing up my stuff makes me sigh.

Enjoy settling in. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  8. I was not thrilled with the first Fantastic Beasts movie so I do hope this next one is better. I found the first one boring.
I hope you get all the new house stuff done soon so you can relax.

  9. I went 3.5 on Love, Sincerely, Yours too. There were things I loved, and I thought it had a really strong ending, but it probably went over my angst limit at one point. I loved the heroine though, and if they wrote another book for the friend, I would listen to it.

  12. It's amazing that you have both the old and the new place so you have some time to get things done. I have had that and it was so helpful. I have to get through all my stuff before I move next summer. Too much stuff.

I LOVED Diamond Fire like everything else Ilona Andrews.

I'm also doing HoHoHoRAT and most are holiday romances which can be tiring when you read too many. Good Luck Anne - Books of My Heart

  13. I hope you get everything cleared up from the old house and the new. I know how long this can take. We have been in our new home almost 3 years and still have boxes we need to get through. Don't be like me. =)

  14. I totally understand how annoying settling in a new house can take. I have been trying to do some redecoration and it seems ages since I started. Hope you get it done soon and have some fun.
