Today is my birthday!
I'm not doing much to celebrate. We went bowling during the week with the little dude and the professor and I went to see the Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, so that was my birthday wrapped up in advance of my actual birthday.
It was fun though.
The internet is turned on at the house and we're getting there with the unpacking! I'm no longer feeling like I'm being smothered by cardboard. Over the coming weeks, I hope to finish sorting out the house, finish cleaning up the old house to hand back keys and then settle into some normalcy!
Halloween was fun.
This part of the village has loads of houses with kids so we had trick-or-treaters for the first time in almost 5 years! It also meant that for the first time ever the little dude was able to trick-or-treat around his own home rather than having to go to friends or relatives.
He dressed up as a Grim Reaper and had way too much fun getting into character. His parting line (at every flippin' house!) was "I'll be seeing you soon..." with a evil laugh. 😱
FYI
I know I keep saying it but I'm sorry I've been awful with keeping up the blog and visiting with all the goings on but I'm catching up! Seriously, I've spent today reading and binge commenting like a fiend. Thanks for not holding my recent comment-silence against me! lol

⭐⭐⭐⭐
I should have finished this last week but the arc arrived stupidly late and with everything else I couldn't finish it in time.
Never-the-less, I read it and reviewed it and liked it.
(It was only a couple of days late!)

It's my birthday... And I've wanted this one for a while.
This is another UF series that I've not yet but has been around for years (and is, in fact, ending soon). I saw a review for it and it sounded awesome so I'm finally going to read it!
eARC
I loved Your Echo and JP was an awesome secondary character so when offered the chance to read his story, what was I to do? Say no? Of course not!
NaNoWriMo kicked off!
I mentioned that I'm taking part this year after being goaded (maybe bullied, lol) into it by a friend. Well, it's four days in and I have written words!
I don't know if they're coherent and I'm pretty sure I'm all tell tell tell but I have words!
I'm tweeting about it on a separate twitter. If you're curious you can find my nano account here.
As for anything interesting from around the blogosphere... I have nothing.
I'll catch up, I promise!
I feel like a record stuck on a loop, but I will!
Honest.

Honestly? I have no idea... I'll find my notebook in a box some point soon, I'm sure.
Have a great week all!
Don't worry - those of us who have kept up with your doings are well aware of the situation and anyone who has blogged for more than 5 minutes knows full well that Life occasionally marches in and takes over. I love that parting line as the Grim Reaper:)). I hope the coming week sees you still more straightened out - you are clearly making inroads, Nicci:)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I'm dying to see Bohemian Rhapsody so it sounds like a fun way to celebrate. I'm following your NaNoWriMo a/c, good luck!

Happy birthday, and enjoy finally getting settled in to your new space. I last moved 11 years ago, and I still haven't recovered...LOL. Seriously, though, I had planned to stay here only a short time, but the thought of moving again paralyzes me.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
Happy Bday and you must tell me how the Bohemian Rhapsody turned out to be.. I am gonna be doing the binge commenting right away too.

Happy Birthday! Glad you are not drowning in cardboard, have internet, and did some fun stuff to celebrate. I downloaded the audio version of Love Sincerely Yours. I hope we both like it.

ReplyDeleteI'm loving the sound of 'First Grave on the Right'. I used to love reading Urban Fantasy books but for some reason I haven't picked one up in FOREVER!
Happy (belated) birthday, my friend! Sounds like a fairly low-key birthday - which is my favorite kind. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are making good progress with the unpacking. Go you! I love how your little guy got so into character with his Halloween costume. That is too funny. LOL
Good luck with NaNoWriMo! Hopefully you’ll keep us updated with your progress!
sSounds like Halloween was a huge win this year.

I didn't do up a Sunday Post this week or last, but I wanted to catch up with you.
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day, Nicci! Glad to hear the unpacking is mostly done and you're enjoying your new neighborhood. Halloween sounds like a fun time and I have to laugh at your little guy's parting line! Too funny! You're still doing great, much better than me lately, if you're only a few days late with your ARC review. I'm like two weeks late on a big one, but I just sent off an email to the publicist explaining that I didn't realize I needed the back story on the long running series and have been binging the past books to get it. The series is really good, though, so it's been fun binging away! :)
Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteoh the excitement of moving and setting up a new place. I love the organizing of it. I love the Charley Davidson series. I participated in the Reread tour and have a giveaway on my blog. It's amazing on audio also.
