My kitty got spayed on Thursday and all went well! I'm so relieved. They gave her this bodysuit thing rather than put her in a cone of shame and she looks so cute!
But also weird.
I'm enjoying all the sleepy cuddles she's seeking at the moment but I feel so bad for her as she's visibly sore and stiff when walking around despite pain-relief.
😟
I know she'll be back to her old self in no time but I still feel guilty for putting her through it even though it's a necessary evil.
Beyond the kitten events, I've had a miserable week of packing up getting ready to move and dealing with crap to do with our rental. The landlord is selling once we leave, rather than re-letting, and that means we're juggling estate agents coming to value the place and measure it up for the market. It's not our problem but since we still live there we're the ones who have to deal with the disruption as per our frickin' tenancy agreement.
We'll be the ones having to put up with the disruption of viewings too.
Grrr!
However, I calm myself with soothing thoughts... Two more weeks and I'm off the renting merry-go-round, with luck, forever!

Nothing!
No purchases, no new arcs, no freebies!
I was good.
I haven't been around the blogs much this week.
Sorry folks, I've just not been in the headspace, nor have I had much time, to be all that active.
I'll catch up on comments and get back into a rhythm soon, I'm sure!

This week, I don't have a lot planned beyond reviewing Dear Jane and sharing an excerpt from a nice, blogoween suitable, read called Something Wicked!
A good opportunity to get moving on the blog ahead challenge too...
Glad your kitty did well! And I hope the showing/ estate people aren't too annoying. It must be a great feeling that you're almost out of there. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Riverdale is back too, can't wait for S3!
They're - sadly - very annoying! But almost there... Almost.
DeleteGlad your cat is doing good. We just had our new dog fixed to and it's so sad but like you said a necessary evil. Took about a week and she was all good. I love the idea of a body suit instead of the cone of shame which is what my dog had. I know how annoying it can be to have to show the house over and over again. Ughh. We have been owners now for a long time. Good luck with moving and the new house. It must be exciting now that it's getting down to the wire.
ReplyDeleteMary my #SundayRoundup #39!
Thanks Mary!
DeleteYou were good. Poor little kitty and eep I don't like people I know coming to visit let alone strangers looking at my things. I will keep you in my thoughts and as you say 2 more weeks!
ReplyDeleteWe're hating strangers poking around the house. It's freaking us out. Super motivating to pack things up though!
DeletePoor kitty cat - but she does look adorable :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting settled in.

I think I'll miss the little body suit when it's gone, lol.
DeleteKitty does look cute in that body suit and I'm sure it's better than the cone.
ReplyDeleteMuch better than the cone!
DeleteAw, your poor kitty. She'll be better soon, and I like the body suit instead of the cone!

It's much better. She's healed so well.
DeleteUgh, sounds like you've had a stressful week! But I think it's pretty awesome that they gave your kitty a body suit instead of the cone. I took the cone off my kitten within minutes of putting it on. She was so stressed out by it! She was walking backwards and everything.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the cones are things of evil. Whereas after a couple of hours of walking weird, she settled right into wearing this with no probs.
DeleteOh boy, I can truly sympathize with all the packing and viewing woes! Packing is a miserable (and overwhelming) task and the viewings are so disruptive. At least there is an end in sight! I enjoyed your review of Fragments of Ash. I don’t actively seek out retellings but that one does sound like such a good one!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you Tanya! Katy Regnery writes a good story. :)
DeleteThe kitty bodysuit is adorbs! They didn't do a cone or anything when my dog was spayed, but I would have loved to have seen my dog in that outfit. Good luck with the packing and the move. I know it will be worth all the aggravation.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam!
DeleteOh, the kitty looks cute in that bodysuit...the cone of shame is truly awful!
ReplyDeleteI remember how disruptive it was when selling my house, with viewings, etc. Because I was too worried about my kitty escaping, I wouldn't allow them to come by unless I was there. And even then, I had to put her in her cat carrier so she wouldn't frantically escape through open doors.
I hope you get through it all!
Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Enjoy when the move is finished. I'm making progress in my healing...and can now eat food! If I chew on the opposite side. LOL
Glad your making progress! lol
DeleteMy older cat is super stressed by all the viewings. She hates most people so a parade of strangers through her space is more than she can stand, poor girl. :(
The kitty is laid back with strangers but healed enough now to try and get outside at every opportunity and she hasn't been signed off by the vet yet so needs to stay put until then... It's horrid.
