I got to see my house! My house! My actual house! It's built! It's finished (well except for turfing the garden) and all the paperwork should be complete by the end of the month and the keys in our hands!
I'm so excited.
It's just what we hoped it would be.
Now the sorting and packing begins!
In other news, the little dude goes back to school on Tuesday and my mum went back home after her two week visit... It's weird to think the next time I see her will be at my wedding in December!

Love Songs & Other Lies - Jessica Pennington
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
OMG, I don't even know where to start with this!
It was everything I wanted and everything I didn't expect and I can't believe the series is over!
I know there will be more Hugh books. I know there may be a spin-off with Roman and there's got to be another spin-off given that flipping epilogue(!) but Kate and Curran's adventure is at an end and that makes me feel all sad while, at the same time, being so happy for how the book went!
Purchased
This was pre-ordered months ago and I was stupidly excited when it hit the kindle this week!

I got it! I got The Darkest Star!
My book envy from last week has abated and I can't wait to read it!
Coming Home to Maple Cottage was an impulse request on netgalley because it sounds so wonderful and sweet! It's not supposed to be a Christmas read - more autumn - so I'm going to read this one nearer the end of the month.
Sam, over at We Live And Breathe Books, had a really interesting post on when you are not the target audience for a story.
Review: Love Songs & Other Lies by Jessica Pennington
Blitz: 10 Reasons to Stay by Candace Knoebel
Blog Tour & Review: Storm of The Gods by A.R. Braun

Oh dear... Next week is crazy.
I signed up for stuff then other stuff got moved so it clashes with stuff and, basically, I have a week of back to back posts.
Monday - A release blitz for Kendall Ryan's new release, Flirting With Forever.
Tuesday - Blog Tour & Review for 10 Reasons to Stay by Candace Knoebel
Wednesday - A release blitz for Vow of Atonement by Emma Renshaw.
Thursday - A double cover reveal... One for Drew Elyse's upcoming novel and one for Kristen Callihan's upcoming release, Fall. (This double was because the reveal for Fall got pushed back.)
Friday - I'm taking part in a couple of weekly memes. The Book Blogger Hop and I Heart Characters.
I'm tired just thinking about it all, lol.
I got a little tear in my eye seeing my name in your post. Thank you, XOXO! I am happy the publishing gods smiled upon you and granted you access to The Darkest Star. Can you throw some of that juju my way for Serious Moonlight? XD How wonderful that your home is almost done. *happy dance* It's so exciting!

ReplyDeleteThanks π
DeleteCongratulations on your new house! I am glad you are happy with it. :-) I do hate moving though. All that packing. The unpacking can be fun though. I hope the little dude has a good school year! You're making me even more excited about Magic Triumphs! I really need to get back to my stash of Ilona Andrews books. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI know, the thought of everything we have to do before actually being able to live in the new house is making me go 'nope!' lol
DeleteYay on the new house. How exciting! I loved To All the Boys too. Such a sweet movie. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace!
DeleteCongratulations on finally seeing your new home. I haven't read this series by Andrews - but I love her writing so I think I'll have to track it down. I hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThe first book in the series is quite slow but book two was awesome and the series never really slowed down from there. I do hope you try. π
DeleteI love when a series stays solid and has a great finish, even though I miss the character's once its over. Congrats on your new home and making it your nest will be fun!

ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Nicci! Happy Reading!
Thank you Michelle!
DeleteYay I'm excited for you that you got to see your house! It is bittersweet when a series you love ends, especially when it ends well because yeah you're sad it's over, but you're also happy it turned out to have a good ending. I have to admit, I liked TATBILB more than I thought I would!
ReplyDelete(RE TATBILB) Me too Kristen! I hadn't read the book so had no idea what to expect but I was utterly charmed. I'm pondering whether to actually read the books now!
DeleteSo exciting that the house is *finally* ready! It's been a long wait, I know. We close on our house this Friday and the move starts on the weekend. Can't wait! Have fun with your packing. LOL Hooray for The Darkest Star! I am beside myself over that one and I'm sure I'll be diving in soon. A return to the Lux world has me positively giddy. :) Hope your week is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteArgh! So exciting! I hope it all goes smoothly and the rest of the week isn't too crazy with preparations and you actually get time to sit and chill for a bit.
DeleteCongrats on the new home! It’s an incredible feeling when you walk in with the keys in your hand. π‘
ReplyDeleteI can’t wait to read the last Kate and Curran book despite the series ending. You just want them to be happy. Glad you got The Darkest Star. Love it when we receive our wish. ❤️❤️
The ending was so satisfying Dani and provided lots of potential for future spin-offs so that was also pretty cool.
DeleteI can't wait to get the keys! π
