Bout of Books 23 - I'm In!

Ever taken part in Bout of Books?
I have!
But not for a really long time... I could be wrong, but I think the last time I took part was back in the Book Lovers Codex days so it's been at least two years and therefore I'm excited to be signing up and joining in once more!

For those who aren't familiar with Bout of Books, I give you the official spiel...

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 20th and runs through Sunday, August 26th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 23 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

So, yeah. Another read-a-thon, but it's a fun one!
And I haven't taken part in any other read-a-thons this summer, and I'm on leave for a week so it's a golden opportunity to reduce/eliminate that deficit on my goodreads reading challenge.
Win!

I've no idea what books I'm going to read during the readathon but my target is to read 7!
A book per day.
That's a huge challenge for me given that I read far slower now than I used to.

Wish me luck!!

  1. Good luck! I don't know if I could do 7 books in a week - unless some were graphic novels or something. haha I'm pretty sure I've only done Bout of Books once, but I like the idea of read-a-thons.

    1. 5 - 7 was my normal four years ago... Since changing jobs I just cant do it anymore, lol.
I'm totally going to be 'cheating' with some novellas and books read with the little dude but I'm not that sorry. Reading is reading! :)

  2. This sounds like fun and it might be exactly what I need to pull myself out of this funk.

  4. Good luck! I used to do a lot of readathons but I just have to get my sleep so reading through the night or into early morning is a thing of the past!

    1. I like Bout of Books for the only pressure is what you put on yourself. It's good fun. :)

  6. I can sometimes read a book per day as long as I don't have anything else to do.

    1. I used to do it with a job, the kid and everything around it but I haven't been able to do it in years :/

  7. This looks like a great challenge. I don't usually participate in readathons unless I'm off for that week. During the week my job keeps me busy and I also don't read fast.

    1. I'm totally including books read with the kiddo and novellas. It's the only way I can do it this time, I think. I used to be able to read a 'normal' book a day, everyday, but those days are looong gone.
