Weekly Update #21

Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

I have nothing to report this week!
It's all been quiet, which is very good seeing as the little dude finishes school for the summer, this coming Wednesday, and that marks the beginning of six weeks of madness!

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ah, I really enjoyed the final two books of this series... It was a pretty good series all in all.
However, it should never have ended at four books!
There was so much scope to make this a book or two longer and by just taking the time to properly draw out all the potential, this series would have went from pretty good to freakin' awesome.
I'm actually gutted that its over.
😞

Just one and it was under 99p!

This week I started watching Black Sails.
I'm two-thirds of the way through the first season and I'm still interested in it but I have to admit that I don't know what all the hype was about. None of the characters are all that likable and the overall plot is only mildly intriguing. I think I'll finish the first season before I make up my mind on whether to continue...

I had another super lazy blogging week with only two posts!

Review: Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill
Sneak Peak: The Naked Truth by Vi Keeland

I stayed up waaay too late last night (and I'm suffering for it this morning) but it was totally worth it as a random twitter thread pointed me in the direction of a review at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books Blog and I laughed so much I could barely breathe.

Seriously, I think my favourite line was, "whatever sort of definition of “sex” you may subscribe to, I’m pretty goddamn sure just about everyone would agree that that having a man stick his cock up your ass qualifies as “having sex” with him."

Curious?
Check it out!
(PS! For the love of all that is holy, don't click on the LolCat Style picture. Don't do it. Your eyes... They don't need that. Trust me.)

Another mellow week, me thinks!
There's a cover reveal and a release blitz but not a lot else planned!
I DO have reviews to catch up on so I'll try to get some of those posted.

Have a great week all!

  1. I tried to watch Black Sails and only made it through a couple of episodes and wasn't really into it. :( I hope you have a fantastic week and enjoy those new books too.

  2. Have a great week, Nicci - I know the calm before the storm... My granddaughter breaks up on Tuesday and then is staying with us:)). Looking forward to it, though - she is 13 and a joy to have! Hope you get some reading done and have a wonderful week.

  3. It's been pretty quiet around here too except for the thunderstorm that blew through and knocked down power lines all over the place. Our power went out 4 times yesterday but thankfully only for a few minutes each time.

  4. I had my eye on the new Kylie Scott. It looks really good. I am not familiar with that Roni Loren book. I am loving her new series though.

    1. I've never read Roni Loren before but this one is apparently an awesome novella so I'm excited to try it. :)

  5. My brother keeps urging me to watch Black Sails. I might give a chance. And I sometimes feel a series ends too soon. I hope you find a new one to enjoy. There are so many out there I want to start:)

    1. Thanks Laura, I'm on a series UF binge at the moment and it's hard to continually find new series that are decent, lol.

    1. I've been so blogging lazy lately! I've just had so much on. When I had some posts scheduled it was fine but I'm out now and struggling! :(
Hopefully, I'll find some time soon to sit and prep ahead.

  7. I watched a little of Black Sails but I get bored SO easily with tv shows and usually bail after one season lol

Hope you had a great weekend.

    1. To be honest, I'm finding Black Sails a fair bit boring... And the characters are all blah. Maybe it gets better but at this rate I'm done by the end of S1.

  8. I love magic so the Stephanie Foxe books look interesting. It's hard to let a book or series go when you enjoy it so much.

Noooo I don't like Jonah. I'm an Ethan girl all the way. lol

    1. I know... I feel a little shame for I do love Ethan... This is where reverse harem seems like a fun idea, lol.

  9. Black Sails was interesting but I did find myself getting bored at times. I hope you like the rest of Season 1. I wanted maybe a little more of Jack and Anne but they didn't seem to really know what to do with them.

    1. I think I'm still confused as to what the point of it all is and frustrated because I dont like any of the characters enough to get behind them therefore care about the powerplays. *shrug* :)

  10. Can't wait to hear your thoughts about Kylie Scott's! I was so tempted by it.

  12. Foxe's covers are so great!

Eh. If you ask a lot of kids these days apparently anal isn't sex. Erms.

  13. I tried Black Sails as well and had a similar reaction to yours. It was interesting enough but I don't get the hype.
