It's been a week of house buying madness!
We met with our mortgage broker and filled in oodles of paperwork and then we filled in more paperwork with our solicitor. By the end of the week, I think we'd more or less signed our souls away but we're only a few steps away from finally buying our house! Oh, it's been a long time coming... I'm so excited!
Out with house buying, we had the little dude's parents evening at school and it was the best - and most chilled! - parents night we've ever had. The school has stopped trying to cram him into a convenient box and instead we've employed some strategies that seem to be working wonders with managing his quirks and social anxieties. He also knocked it out of the park on his SATs (statutory tests applied to all kids aged 7 and 11) which was awesome.

Borrowed Magic - Stephanie Foxe
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A nice, new, binge-readable UF series on Kindle Unlimited!
It's a complete series too... Very exciting. However, complete series is meaningless if book one is complete pants and thankfully this book wasn't! It was on the short side but it was addictive so I grabbed the others and settled in for a binge.
Price of Magic - Stephanie Foxe
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Much longer than the first book in the series - yeay! - and much more addictive and action-packed. It's woefully light on the romance side (I need it!) but it actually didn't matter as I enjoyed it a lot without.

Have a great week all!
Congratulations on being closer to owning your home. How exciting! And it's wonderful to hear that your son is having so much success at school. It's amazing how much the child can accomplish, when the educators consider the individual child.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam!
DeleteCongrats on the house buying! I hope your new house is great for you!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays and Cover Spotlight!
Thanks Ronnie!
DeleteMy brother and sister in law sold their house, moved and bought another house so I know how much paper work there is. Glad you're one step closer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, I'm on paper overload at the moment!
DeleteI remember the excitement of home buying! I've experienced that a few times over the years, but the last time was when I bought a house all by myself...and that was definitely memorable. And then, thirteen years later, when I sold that house to downsize.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
It's stressful an exciting! Can't wait to move in!
DeleteCongratulations on the house. I know how that is. We just moved two years ago and I keep saying to my hubby that this is our forever home. NO more moving. =) Who knows tho. Good luck in it - it's so exciting. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary my #SundayRoundup #27!
We know we'll need to move again at somepoint as the house isn't big enough for a growing family but it gets us on the ladder! :)
DeleteExciting times for you! I'm glad you're getting a change of pace for summer. The series you found on KU looks interesting. If I do the deal they have currently for 3 months, I'll check them out. I love magic. Anne - Books of My Heart
ReplyDeleteThey were good Anne! However, I'd have liked there to be a little bit more romance and I think the series could have done with another book or two.
DeleteCongratulation on the home buying news! I hope the rest of the process is smooth and stress-free for your family :)
ReplyDeleteThank you JJ!

Karen @ For What It's Worth
It's good Karen but it could have done with a few more books I think. The end was all a bit too simple and rushed. :(
DeleteWhat an exciting time for you! Congrats on the house.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeletePaperwork sucks, but how exciting about the house! And that's awesome the school is working with your son :-) Have a great week!
