Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!
This week has been a mixed bag of disappointment and nice.
The disappointment came from the house we were buying falling through, so it's back to the drawing board on what we want and keeping our eyes peeled for something that meets our needs and is within our price range.
😞
The nice came from a family wedding. The professor's grandfather remarried on Friday. It was a lovely ceremony and we're so happy that he found someone to share his remaining years with after losing the professor's grandmother almost seven years ago.
💪
On the weight loss side, I gained 2lbs back over the last three weeks because I've been barely following the plan. This wasn't acceptable as I really do want to do this so I bought one of their summer planners, paid for the 12 week countdown to go with my planner, and have set my target of being within 7lbs of my target weight by the end of these 12 weeks.
That's 30lbs in 12 weeks I am aiming to lose!
It won't be easy but with focus and 100adherencece to plan, I believe it's possible.
I'm re-focused, have grabbed my motivation and wrapped it around me... I'm doing this.
It's 12 weeks! 12 weeks to get where I want to be and if I fall short then I'm still going to be much better off than I am now and I have nothing to lose - except those pounds!

I haven't been in much of a ready mood.
I know... Blasphemy.
Nothing... But I did add several to the wishlist for future purchasing!
I just saw that Karen Chance has a name for the next Cassie Palmer book and I got very excited. 2I'm hoping since there is a name there won't be a four-year wait on the next book!
I found out they'd canceled the Shadowhunters TV show and was gutted. I liked that show.
Blitz: Spectacle by SJ Pierce
Excerpt: Cry Baby by Ginger Scott
Would You Rather: For Book Nerds
Book Blogger Hop: Most Rads Author In The Past Two Years

I'll be posting an Excerpt for Samantha Young's The Fragile Ordinary which is set in my most favourite place in the world, aka Edinburgh.
That's pretty much all I have planned except that I haven't posted any reviews for a while - despite having about a dozen in draft! - and since that's outrageous, I'll post a couple of those.
I started reading Son of No One by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This is part of my Series That Never Ends reading challenge, aka catching up on the world of the Dark-Hunters.
Have a great week all!
I was so upset when i read that they were cancelling Shadowhunters, i really like the show. My daughter started The Flash this week and is loving it. Sorry to hear abou the house falling through. Enjoy your week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenea!
DeleteSorry about the house. I am a fan of the wedding part of weddings, but hate receptions, because I have been unattached for so long. They are super painful for spinsters like me. I was sad to hear about the Shadowhunters too. I feel like it was hitting its stride, but TV is not a patient place.
ReplyDeleteI hate how they never give TV shows a chance to really build up a following. They also don't give them enough time (or consideration) for the followers in international markets to cotton on. :(
DeleteMy week was exactly like that! Both good and bad, really. It's too bad you couldn't get the house deal.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can keep the motivation :) have a great week!

Thanks!
DeleteI am sorry about the house, but as my grandmother would say, "It happened for reason, the perfect house is out there waiting for you."
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it is! I just wish we'd find it faster, lol.
DeleteVery disappointing about the house, but I always believe that when one door closes, a window opens.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy achieving your goals.
Thanks for sharing, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I hope so and I believe this to be true. :)

DeleteI hope you find the house you want. Sorry this one fell through. One thing I do when I have a weight loss target is go buy something in the size I hope to fit in. Good luck with your plan and, as you said, if you don't quite meet the goal, you'll still have done good:)
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I have multiple pairs of jeans and a few tops I'm desperate to fit back into and that's my current motivation. I'm also looking forward to shopping for new things when I reach my goal... Gives me some motivation to stay there! lol
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear the news about your house hunting! Fingers crossed that something even better comes along soon :) Hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI hope so! :)
DeleteBummer about the house! It's always hard when you get your mind set on something and then it doesn't work out. That just means something better is sure to pop up! I think I remember you saying you only had a certain amount of time... do you still have enough left? I hope things start to fall into place for you!
ReplyDeleteL @ Do You Dog-ear?
Well remembered! We had to renew our lease but went for a shorter term hoping to move. Now i'm wishing we'd went for our usual 1 year!:(
DeleteAw, I'm sorry to hear about the house. I hope you find something wonderful soon. I've been kind of yo-yoing when it comes to losing weight. I really need to get back to focusing and figure out what I can do more of in order to lose weight. I'm aiming to lose around 30 more pounds, so we'll see! Good luck to you!

Ah man, there is some sad moments after not getting the house. I remember that feeling. Yay for grandfather and second chance at happy.
ReplyDeleteCheering you on through your weight loss campaign. Its tough, but can be done. I did it for a health study a few years back though it did take me five months.
