Weekly Update #13

Welcome!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

This week has mostly been a big ol' bag of I don't give a crap.
I gained 1lb at my Slimming World group, neglected my blog all week and had the most frustrating week at work... But the little dude came second in his school sports day races on Friday and this weekend is a bank holiday weekend (3 days off!) so I just need to pick my motivation up off the floor and make next week a good one!

⭐⭐

This kicked off my reading week and resulted in major rage face.
I just... WTF?
If this is the final book in the series, I'm frickin' returning every one of them for this is not an ending!
All the things not resolved... The abruptness.
I shit you not, I thought the file was corrupted and I was missing half the book the ending is that abrupt and frustrating.
😠

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

Re-Read

After the frustrations of my other read this week, I wanted something soothing, sweet and funny so I turned to a favourite.
I think I loved this book even more the second time around.

Full Price

I bought it, I read it, I'm so pissed off with it I'm seriously contemplating returning it.

Freebies!

I've read a few Mia Sheridan books before and enjoyed them. Picking up some more while free was a no-brainer.

99p Reads

Apparently, the freebie Mia Sheridan books I bought are two-parters... But the other halves were on sale at 99p (nice marketing ploy there!) so I picked them up too. It'd be really annoying to read the freebies and then realise I don't have the rest of the story!

Kindle Unlimited

There are 3 Mariana Zapata books that I haven't read.
Lingus is one of them but it's now available on KU, therefore, it's time I read it!

GDPR....
GDPR, aka the devil, came into effect and I swear to the big man upstairs I've never had so many unsolicited and unwanted contact from random companies than I've had this past week!
Good news is most all of them will now legally have to disappear off my radar forever.
😀

This week I finished S2 of SOA and got almost caught up on The Big Bang Theory.

Cover Reveal: Cry Baby by Ginger Scott
Book Review: Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews

Next week... What on earth do I have next week?
I don't remember and I can't find my notebook.
I REALLY need to blog ahead a bit to avoid the slumps and save myself from disorganisation.

I haven't progressed any of my reading challenges....

Have a great week all!

    1. I like SOA but I've never got beyond S4 as I know it all goes to hell and I don't want to see it happen, lol.
This time though, I feel like I need to finish it.

  2. Sorry you had a miserable week! I agree with you about all the GDPR notifications---it's been SO annoying!!

    1. I'm now happy that they're not allowed to email me again seeing as I didn't respond to the majority of them! :)

  3. I have not watched one episode of SOA. Never cared, but so many love that show. I hope you have a better week and I HATE ending like that. Makes me want to shake the author - like WTF!

    1. Honestly, this series has alternated between so good and so very bad that this craptastic ending was just the icing on the WTF cake. I don't know if I could bring myself to read anymore even if they released...

  4. Glad your son had a great sports day, and I am also super happy to have a 3-day weekend! I can thank GDPR for eliminating like a million emails from my box, because I didn't respond to the ones I wanted gone. Easy, peasy.

  5. I hate when a series ends and it's not a real ending.

  6. Sorry you had a frustrating week. Hopefully this week is better. I’ve gotten so many GDPR emails. It’s been crazy. Enjoy your new books!

  7. I'm so sorry it was a frustrating week! But that's wonderful news with your son :) I hope the holiday weekend is more fun than the week leading up to it!

  8. I love your post. I'm sorry it was a tough week but I am on the every day is a good day boat. I decide how I'm going to feel. But geez, I just would rather be back a child when my parents handled everything. They were really good at it and sometimes I just want to go back to bed and give up the adulting.

Sons of Anarchy yay! S3 is my favorite. As you can tell I am a Charlie Hunnam fan as well as the rest of the guys. I was going to ride my Harley to IL but they cancelled the Fest of Anarchy. Darn.

At least the GDPR gave me a chance to opt out of a few things. I have one, not book related, which I have unsubscribed and they just keep coming. I finally labeled as spam today.

Here's to the holiday and a better week ahead. Anne - Books of My Heart

  9. GDPR lol- ugh. Hate it. :)

Congrats to your son on his races! And hope this week is a better one! It almost has to be now that GDPR is more or less done right? :)

  10. Oh my, I have noticed with the whole GDPR thing that every site I've ever subscribed to is now contacting me again. And every time you visit a site, you have to click that yes, you understand. It's a bit overwhelming. I have a small privacy policy on the bottom of my site, not an entire page, but I understand so very little of this whole GDPR thing.

Looks like you had a pretty good week :)

  11. Aw, I'm sorry you had a bit of a rough week. I hope that this upcoming one is much better for you. Oh gosh, GDPR was such a pain in the neck! And I really need to get back into blogging ahead. I was doing well and then...yeah, same old same old.

  12. Sometimes I don't give a crap either :D That's why I don't post my weekly wrap-up on a weekly basis *snicker*

I STILL haven't read Mariana Zapata although I have four or five books by her. How wrong is that?

  13. Eeeesh. I really hope that that is not the last book in the series. Hopefully the author comes out with another book or at least a novella or something. I always find that rereading a favorite is a good way to bounce back from something like this.

  14. I'm having an I don't give a crap week now lol

OMG those emails! And then they emailed AFTER the deadline to remind me that won't be getting anymore emails - so click to keep subscribed. There's a reason I didn't GO AWAY. I'm feeling super hostile about the whole thing hehe

  17. Wow. That sucks that you hated the book and the ending so much. I get that. I hope that things settle out and you have a better week.
