Welcome!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!
My little dude turned 7!
He had a lovely birthday with family then on Friday (and Saturday) he had a friend over for a sleepover and a trip to Legoland for them both on the Saturday.
It was fab, even though it was freezing cold and snowed lightly most of the day!
I still can't believe he is 7!!
😭

Good times.
😑
It was fun a couple of weeks ago, now I am over it.
Outwith birthday shenanigans, I didn't do much this week beyond read, binge watch tv and work.
Thanks to the snow, the coming week (or the beginning of it!) looks like it'll be more of the same.
Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse By Rick Riordan
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth By Rick Riordan
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian By Rick Riordan
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These books are just so good!
MUST move onto the Heroes of Olympus series as soon as I hack my way through the review copies / arcs I've accumulated in the past couple of weeks!
Nothing!
😇
However, I was sorely tempted by JR Ward's Dearest Ivie...
I'm still tempted by it.
It's only 1.99. It'd be covered by my gift card balance. I wouldn't be breaking the rules of the book buying embargo to add it to the reading list... Maybe next week?
I was also accepted to another blog tour, so I received one ARC this week. I can't believe I've been accepted for everything I took a punt for in April!!😱.
This week, I binge-watched The White Princess which is a fictionalized 8-part tv series based upon the marriage of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York and the end of the War of the Roses.

I loved the romance between Henry VII and Elizabeth and the fact that the guy who played Henry was easy on the eyes was a huge plus!
If you enjoyed The Tudors or Reign then I highly recommend!
This week, I took 3 more books off the TBR pile!
This brings my challenge total to 8.
I still haven't contributed anything to this total... I am naughty.
Only 2 books behind target now! Next week, I'll be back on track.
Not bad when I was about 6 behind only a week or so ago!
Book Blitz: Captive by Jenny Lynn
Book Blitz: February in Atlantis by Alyssa Day
The Lucky is Reading giveaway also came to an end. The winner of the $5 Amazon gift card has been selected by the rafflecopter as follows:
There is an email waiting for you in your inbox.

Reviews. I must catch up on reviews.
I'm also taking part in a book blitz for a sci-fi romance which is different for me!
Have a good week everyone!
Happy birthday to your son! LEGOland sounds awesome. Boo to the snow though- yeah winter has overstayed its welcome, I think...
ReplyDeleteI watched about half of The White Princess and liked it, but got sidetracked- I need to finish it up!
Have a great week!
It's well worth finishing Greg! I'm just glad that this type of thing doesn't really lead to another series for I do love the characters!
DeleteGlad he enjoyed Legoland. I love the models of the towns. Did you do them? They are really awesome! I love things like that. Good work on your challenge I have 3 done. I have been binge watching Downton Abbey now that it's done I will have to get some of my TBR pile down! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary #SundayRoundup #10
I wish I was as talented as to make those models Mary. Sadly, my 7 year old has more skill. :)
DeleteLegoland sounds fun. And Happy Birthday to your son! That's a lot of snow. Spring needs to hurry up. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
Agreed! I'm dying for spring to come and actually stay! lol
DeleteHappy Birthday to him! I LOVED The White Princess, I binge watched it too and was raving over on my blog a few weeks back about it. So good right? I want to read the novels. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome. Can't believe I waited so long to watch it!
DeleteYay for birthdays, sleepovers and Legoland. Now about that snow..bleck!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely bleck!
DeleteAww happy birthday to your little one! And this snow really is annoying the heck out of me too, seriously we've never had this much regularly in a long time, I'm hoping the weather will improve soon! I hope you have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteSweet pics from Legoland!
ReplyDeleteGrats on not buying books (but you know Wonder Woman might still be on sale ;) )
Have a lovely week!
You're tempting me! Leading me to darkness.... lol
DeleteSounds like a really awesome birthday! I went to Legoland for the first time recently and I had a blast. So I'm sure at 7, it was even more fun for him. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's one of his favourite places! He took a friend (who hadn't been before) and you'd like they'd been delivered the moon they were so happy, lol.
DeleteAh, Legoland is fun! I remember tagging along with three of my grandkids when they were little...and someone at the shop drew a cartoon of them, which I have tacked up in my office nook.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
It was an awesome day!
DeleteOh Legoland sounds awesome! The snow doesn't sound so awesome though. Hopefully that is over and you can enjoy your books in snowless peace!
ReplyDeleteIt melted by Wednesday so it wasn't too bad. :)
DeleteSounds like you had a good time. I can understand being over the snow because I'm tired of this yoyo weather here where I live. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteI would cry if we got 8 inches of snow. There is some storm brewing, but I am hoping we don't get any accumulations. Glad the birthday was a success. It sounds like it was so much fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome Sam, hope you have a good week and the weather behaves!
DeleteWhite Princess was really entertaining! I especially liked Elizabeth and her mother :)
ReplyDeleteThey were brill. I loved the dynamic between Elizabeth and Henry. :)
DeleteThat Legoland trip looks adorable. We have one here but I haven't been.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
We've never went to the Florida one when we've visited Florida just because it seems too alike to what we can get here at home but I am curious about it. Maybe next time we go. :)
DeleteSounds like a great B-Day! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt was, thank you. Have a great week too!
DeleteMy sons would have loved a trip to Legoland. Tell me it’s not outdoors, please. You didn’t go in the snow? I can’t imagine a world with snow.
ReplyDeleteYep, outdoors and actual snow, lol. It wasn't settling at that point, just constantly falling...
DeleteHappy Birthday to your son! I took my kids to Legoland when we lived in Florida a few years ago and they absolutely loved it. We went at a really good time and they weren't busy because the water park portion didn't open til the week after we went. I even got to go on a few rides, so it was a good family trip for the adults too. I am happy to see you enjoyed the whole Olympian series. My nephew is asking about The Titan's Curse.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!
Oooh, I didn't realise the Florida one had a water park area! Ours only has the theme park. If you stay at the hotel, you have a themed pool but not a water park. Next time I go to Florida, I think I really will have to check the Florida one out. :)
DeleteSounds like a pretty great birthday weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteLaughing about you saying you were accepted for *everything*. Isn't that how it always works? We get excited, request everything (certain we won't get even half of it), and then feel the pressure when we're accepted for it all. Pretty par for the course. LOL
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
I know... I should have known better, lol.
DeleteGuess what. I have a little brother who turned ten a week ago. I gave him The Lighning Thief (Percy Jackson #1) for his birthday and now we're reading it together :) Happy birthday to your little dude, I'm sure he's an awesome little guy just like my lil' bro. I hope you'll have a nice week (I'm a new follower btw).
ReplyDeleteRonnie @ Paradise Found
Hi Ronnie, thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHope you enjoy the Lightning Thief, I thought it was awesome. :)
Legoland! I am so jealous of him :)
ReplyDeleteThey had a great time, despite the cold!
DeleteOh that looks like a fun birthday! Hope you have a good one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna!
DeleteHappy birthday to your son!! Legoland sounds fun. Ugh with the snow. So over it. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm hoping that last weekend's snow dump was the last for this year!
DeleteHappy birthday to your son! We still have snow too. Legoland sounds like a lot of fun, I am sure your son loved it!
ReplyDeleteThey had a blast :)
DeleteLooks like a fun birthday.
ReplyDeleteIt was, and a lot less stressful than the last one which was a birthday party!
DeleteI completely agree with you regarding the weather. Even though today was warmer, I'm sceptical. Remember last Friday - and then what happened on Saturday??. Glad your son's birthday went well, though I'm guessing Legoland was a tad on the nippy side:). There are some birthdays that seem to bring home just how fast they are growing up - 7 years old... that's one of them! I can't quite get over the fact that my grandson will be turning 9 in November. Have a great week, Nicola - and thank you for swinging by my site:))
ReplyDeleteThank you S J!
DeleteAwww, kids nowadays do grow so fast. Belated happy birthday to your little man Nicci :)
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of Percy Jackson, my! I'm so behind haha. I really need to get back on them soon!
Vanessa @ Blushing Geek
Thanks Vanessa! I really recommend the Percy Jackson books. They surprised me by how much I liked them!
DeleteHappy belated birthday to your son! I got a few inches yesterday, but we're supposed to get more snow Saturday so we'll see what happens. It's pretty, but I am ready for some warmer weather so I can get out of the house more!

Warmer weather to go with the lighter evenings sounds perfect!
DeleteHappy Birthday to your son! 7 is such a fun age. We got more snow yesterday too. Ugh, I'm so over it and ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your TBR challenge. I'm reading my 8th book for the Take Control challenge too so yay us! :)
I haven't done very well this week (I've finished nothing!) but I'm hoping to get back on it next week. :)
DeleteWell done on the challenge so far!
Legoland in the snow... kids are tough, right? LOL I'm sure he had a blast.
ReplyDeleteOh, Percy! It's been a while. I enjoyed that series.
Have a good week! :)
LEGOLAND!! Hahahaha a kid's dream... my nephew loves that place and what a wonderful birthday gift for both kids. And good job on the Take Control Challenge! 3 is about what I can read in a week so that's excellent <3
