Despite it being a novella, Magic Dreams has a good satisfying story to it, packed full of action and a fair few giggles; I really enjoyed the Japanese mythology angle.
I'm also really disappointed that this could be all we get on the Dali and Jim front. I mean, sure it ends with a kiss - so to speak - but where do they go from here? I hope we see them develop more in the main series of books.
“Butterflies were small and light, and very magic sensitive. For some reason I made them feel safe and they gravitated to me like iron shavings to a magnet. They ruined my ferocious badass image, but you'd have to be a complete beast to swat butterflies.”
