June Summary

June was a very fun month for me as it was the first full month of my book blog's existence!

In the first month of Sunny Buzzy Books, I've taken part in a few blog hops which have helped me discover quite a few bloggers to follow, I've thrown my first ever giveaway and I've made great progress in growing the blog's social media pages which I'm really proud of.

With regards to reading I'm so happy to say that I read 13 books this month and started reading two that I had to mark as DNF as they just weren't for me.
13 books in a month is a big deal for me.
It has been so long since I've truly felt that fire to read, read and read some more and I'm so happy it's reigniting!

Below is a summary of what I read this month. It's very Ilona Andrews heavy as I went on an Urban Fantasy binge...

Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews

Clickbait by Lisa Suzanne

💢 Did Not Finish 💢

I couldn't get into this book no matter how hard I tried. I read about 25% of the book and had to quit. I just did not like the main character; Courtney. She was so self absorbed I wanted to stick her with sharp pointy objects. In the eye. Repeatedly. In the end I decided it was healthier to stop reading.

Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews

Felony Ever After by Helena Hunting et al

Under Locke by Mariana Zapata

Paying Daddy's Debts by Alexa Riley

💢 Not Rated 💢

First off, this is a really short read (barely novella length) which was one of the things that attracted me to it, I wanted something I could inhale on my lunch hour so it succeeded on that point. Second positive point, the author obviously has fun with what she writes and trys to make her story socially acceptable. But that's where the positive ends.
The negatives include lack of any depth of character, lack of any background story, predatory men, sex, and quite a bit of it considering the length of the story, that isn't sexy... I could go on but I wont.

Rock Bottom Love by Nora Crystal

💢 Did Not Finish 💢

I couldn't get into this one and couldn't bring myself to finish it which, considering it is only novella length, says a lot. My main issue was how much of a prat the main character was and the lack of chemistry between the characters.

Winter Kisses by Addison Moore

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
