Weekly Update #6

Welcome!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

It's been a quiet week with the little dude and the professor off visiting the in-laws on the emerald isle but it's been nice.

Work has been calm, I've met up with friends for a few evenings out and I saw Love, Simon at the cinema.

It was also time for this little one's second set of vaccinations and she was totally chilled throughout everything. Her nature is as sweet as she looks... I can't believe she's been with us almost 5 weeks!

Over on my other blog, I posted about favourite scents and updated on the weight loss journey. If you're curious, check them out.

Demons by J. L. Drake

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved it.
It's dark, twisted and ends of a bitch of a cliffhanger and I still loved it.
I'm posting my review as part of the blog tour next week.

The Windmill Cafe: Summer Breeze by Poppy Blake

⭐⭐

I seem to be in the minority with this one but it really wasn't for me.

My thoughts on the book.

This was a 99p steal highlighted by Astrid at Vanilla & Spice Books.

Finally!! I FINALLY got my hands on this! I've been eyeballing since it released in January, there's been so much hype and I finally get to read it!
It was ON SALE for only £1.49 on amazon uk yesterday (Sat 7th) so if you haven't got it, and want it, it might be worth checking out your regional site.

My name is Nicci and I'm a cover whore.
Seriously.
I bought this book because of the cover.
The blurb was good too, but it was the cover that had me sold.

From the library

I've borrowed both of these books before and failed to read both of them in the past. Not this time though! No sir, they are going to be read before they need to go back in 3 weeks time.

The goal with this was to blog ahead by 14 posts.
I managed 6 which was better than nothing!

Still at 3 Dark Romances.

Still nothing towards this one.

I'm 6 books behind.

I took full advantage of being alone this week and have binge-watched S1 of The 100 and I'm already halfway through S2.
OMG I love it!
I should have started watching this show years ago but my timing seems to be pretty good considering S5 begins at the end of this month. I may be caught up by then and will avoid the pesky cliffhanger at the season finale.
😊

I've been very lazy...

Review: The Windmill Cafe: Summer Breeze by Poppy Blake

Next week is a busy one!
3 release blitzes and 1 blog tour.
I've also got some reviews that desperately need to be written so I may feed some of them in too.

Have a great week all!
I'll try to be more on it this week with the blog visits!

  1. That picture of your cat just melted my heart. So cute!! I hope you get to those library books this time. I enjoyed both series, The Caster Chronicles more than The Selection, but both were good.

    1. Our other kitty is a semi-feral monster who'd rather die than submit to the cat box/vets so don't worry, lol.
