Weekly Round Up #5

Welcome!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Now that's explained, it's on to my weekly recap!

This week was a crazy work week on account of it being the end of our financial year and the little dude catching a sickness bug and thus kicking off his school holiday two days early...
Long hours and little play made me a very cranky lady so thank goodness that the Easter weekend is a long one!
I don't know what it's like elsewhere in the world but here in the UK Good Friday and Easter Monday are bank holidays and that means days off work for a large chunk of the working population.
Yeay!

The little dude recovered fairly quickly from the vomiting bug - and no one else caught it! - but we've been limited on what we've been able to do the past couple of days because it hasn't stopped raining. Not the start to his holiday we wanted but oh well.
We went to see the new Peter Rabbit film yesterday as I needed to get the little dude out the house before he turned rabid.
It was actually pretty good. Not our usual kind of film but we laughed lots. I recommend it if you have younger kids.

I'm working the rest of his school holiday but the little dude has a surprise trip to Ireland to visit the professors mum, brother and sister - with the professor.
This means I'm childless and partner free for 10 days.
I wish I could say I was going to do something fun with the time but I'm probably going to spend stupid hours at work, binge watch crap tv and read until my eyes hurt.
It could be worse.

Finally, I had my first weigh-in at Slimming World and I lost 4.5lbs! I'm so happy and really hope I can continue it this week and achieve my first 'award'.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book kept me up way past my bedtime!
I really enjoyed it.
My Review.

I bought this little beauty for only 99 pennies!
It's at 99p for it's release week so if you grab it quick, it should still be on offer!

This one was FREE! I don't know if it's still free but if you're interested you should totally check.
I really enjoyed book one in this series - Dirty English - so I'm hoping this one is as good.

This challenge ended with a total of 9 books read.
I was hoping for at least 10 but at least I cleared 9 off the TBR shelf!

Still only 3 Dark Romances.

I WILL begin this challenge soon.
I just... Haven't yet.

Argh! I'm now 5 behind.

I'm still plodding through S6 of The Vampire Diaries.

We've also been on a re-watch of all the Marvel movies starting with the first Iron Man and working our way through in release order in preparation for Avengers: Infinity War.
So far we've watched up to Captain America: The First Avenger.

  1. This is my first school holiday of the year with no work to do! I'm very happy about that.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your partner- and kid-free time. It's really nice every now and then. Plus, binge-watching TV shows and just doing whatever you want to do (even with some work thrown in!) is awesome!
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  14. Hooray for the long weekend - sounds like you needed it. Good Friday is holiday some businesses close for here, but not all. My husband's company was closed but I had to work. And Monday wasn't a holiday at all. Let me just say I like your way better. LOL Congrats on the weight loss! Well done!

  15. It isn't a federal holiday here which surprised me. I was able to go to the post office Monday though so no complaints. A few stores were closed though.

Glad your son is feeling better.

    1. Thats the one thing that annoys me is the banks, post offices etc closing. It's like, I'm off work! I need to catch up on things... :/

  18. Sorry to hear your little dude was sick. That sucks. Some people here have Good Friday off (but mostly in government jobs) and most have Easter Monday off.
